Crowns & posts before or after sarpe?

So if you get a root canal should you get it posted and crowned before or after SARPE? Same question in regards to molar implants. Before or after? SARPE widens the palate and creates more space between the teeth so putting a tooth implant or crown post in before SARPE means you'll probably have to ...

Re: Anyone over 27 who's gotten SARPE?

Well who knows, maybe it will be different for you. After you get your surgery and your swelling goes down come back and let us know. Monetary constraints have made it so that I will have to wait until at LEAST the end of 2013 to get my surgery and that's if I'm lucky. So some of us have plenty of t...

Re: Anyone over 27 who's gotten SARPE?

I was actually hoping that my cheeks would get a bit more pronounced. :) but I guess that only happens when you get a Sarpe done at a younger age.

Anyone over 27 who's gotten SARPE?

I was wondering if people thought you looked really different after your SARPE surgery. With younger folk it's completely different because their faces are changing constantly anyway, plus their bones are softer so changes are less obvious. But I'm wondering what happens to people 30+ when they get ...

Does regular health insurance pay for Oral Surgery?

I was thinking that it was dental insurance that paid for ortho/jaw surgeries, but I find that very few people have dental insurance and those that do have it say that their dental insurance has a maximum benefit in their policy of only $2,000 a year or less. So is it regular health insurance that p...

Bottom and upper teeth SARPE?

I have two questions: 1- has anyone had a sarpe done on the lower teeth as well as the upper? Primarily as an adult as I myself am now 30. Many people have had it done on the upper teeth only and it seems common and safe enough, but I don't hear much about the bottom teeth. The tongue is there and e...

Re: Male Adult getting braces - impact on single life??

As a female I can tell you that it is usually no fun kissing a guy with braces. The mouth's air pressure is off from all the extra stuff in your mouth. That may have something to do with how long someone's had braces on though and how used to them they are. And I'm postive my BF will not have as muc...

Re: SARPE Surgery

For people who get SARPE done, how is the bottom teeth widened to fit with the now wider bite on the top teeth? is a surgical expansion done on the lower jaw for this?

Re: SCARPE- Does this have to be done in a hospital?

Oh I'm not doing it to correct crowded teeth because my teeth are BARELY crowded at all. Just a little bit. I want to do it for cosmetic purposes only, not because I medically need it. That's why I know insurance won't pay for it and I have to pay for it on my own because it is strictly cosmetic. Ye...

SCARPE- Does this have to be done in a hospital?

I would like to get palate expansion mostly for facial cosmetic reasons. There's a tiny bit of crowding in my mouth but not much. I doubt insurance will pay for it so it'll be out of pocket. That's why I would prefer to avoid hospital costs. I hear it's pretty quick and routine surgery so can you ju...
