I used whitening toothpaste while I had braces. Mind you, my teeth always looked kind of yellow then. But once the braces came off I was quite surprised.

I had premolar extractions done when I was about 11 (20+ years ago). Unfortunately I was left with Hayley type retainer which never fixed my problems. So I finally got braces at the age of 33. As far as the extractions go, I have no regrets. I don't think my teeth would have every fit my mouth other...

My teeth were really white. (See my "And they are off" message, the after pic is taken on the way home from ortho) Ppl commented on how white they were. No stains at all. Congrats, you must be excited

I have permanent wire top and bottom. No retainers. I will see Dr. in a month just to make sure the perm bonds are enough. If not she said I might need an Essix for the bottom teeth only.

They came off one month earlier on Dec 10. They shall not be missed

Had braces for the last 17 months. Not even one coffee date. Too bad but I think it is because I am not all that attractive overall. I don't truly believe the braces had anything to do with it. I know people who dated throughout their whole treatment!!! Good luck

I used the over the counter strips before braces. I am using whitening toothpaste and have my teeth cleaned by a hygienist every 3-4 months. I noticed that my teeth do look stained but that might be due to the braces. I have about 2-3 months to go so we will see then.

I am really lucky to only ever needing it the first two months. I always got it free from my ortho but I was also offered some at my regular dentist's during one of the cleanings. Ask them, they might be able to give you some too.

My orthodontist also implied today that some filing down is to be done. I think I am gonna say no to that when the time comes, unless it is the lower teeth. I want my teeth straight and I don't think the shape will affect the treatment. I guess I will cross that bridge when I get to it but I am fee...

I would say I noticed first really obvious changes (obvious to me and nobody else, need to say) around month 3. We were "waking the teeth up" first.
