Re: Braces at age 30

Well I know it has been almost 6 months since my braces. I go in every 3-6 weeks for a tightening. I'm in my final wire size my doctor says. Can't say I have had much pain after each check up. 6 more trays left on top and about another 6 months left on the bottoms my ortho told me. Can't wait to eat...

Dentist Teeth Cleaning with Braces and Powerchain

Have a question. Do I need to get my wire removed by my ortho before I go into my dentist for a cleaning and check up? If not how does your dentist clean your teeth properly with the wire and a power chain on?

Re: Invisalign Question

Hey, I have traditional on the bottom and I have to say the first week or so are painful as your gums and the inside of your mouth grow tougher to the metal digging and rubbing. I couldn't eat or bite into things for a good two weeks. Invisalign is a lot better as they trays don't cut up your mouth....

Re: Invisalign Question

Just put in tray 6 and the pain has returned. Just counting the time till the pain resides and the tray starts to feel looser. I feel I'm still clenching as it helps with the pain.

Re: Braces at age 30

Well I am on tray 6 on the top and 3 months in on the bottom. I can feel my teeth are much straighter with my tongue. The gap is almost closed. Touching on the top of the teeth part and now just to get the roots moving. Doctor said next visit in 6 weeks she will start working on the root to get it c...

Re: Braces at 30

Welcome! I'm also 30 and took the plunge. Have invisalign on top and traditional on the bottom. It gets better for sure and after having them a couple of months I hardly notice them except when eating. I can even eat normal food again. Just keep reminding yourself of the outcome and straight teeth! ...

Re: kellyb's story (belatedly)

Had a powerchain put on my lowers. Really hurt when she was putting it on but have had no pain since. Had front bottom incisor removed. Gap is closing really quickly. I'll have the single incisor in between the two top teeth. Have seen pictures of the end result and I don't think you can really tell.

Re: Invisalign Question

Yay findally can announce I have no more pain and the switching of the trays was not too bad either. They felt really snug.

It seems my clenching has subsided as well. guess my mouth just needed to get adjusted to the trays.

16 more trays to go and hopefully my teeth will show a big difference!

Re: Braces at age 30

Went in on Saturday and got a new wire put on. Think it was a 0.8 or something like that. Also got a pwoerchain put on about 5 teeth across my bottom teeth. It was a bit painful when she was stretching it on but no pain at all since the appointment. I guess I'm lucky. Extraction has healed well and ...

Re: Braces at age 30

I am a little worried as I'm leaving for vaction beginning of June for a month. Hope I can keep on schedule with my invisalign and be able to eat most foods as I will have a new wire put in two days before I leave. :-)

Re: Invisalign Question

Awe thanks. The pain has mostly subsided. Strange feeling still to have my teeth enclosed. I find sometimes I'm clenching a bit but suppose that will subside as I get used to the trays.

Re: Braces at age 30

One week after the extraction and I can barely feel it. The gap is closing really quickly so it is hardly noticeable! Hooray! My invisalign on top is almost non existent. I barely know it's there except when I need to eat or brush and floss. One more week and I get to put in tray two! looking forwar...

Re: Extraction of bottom incisor. Tooth 41 I think

Glad to write it has been a week since I had the tooth extracted and the hole has closed about half way. I think on my next visit for a new wire it should close even more quite quickly.

Re: Invisalign Question

Yes I realized that too. I got 5 buttons and you can clearly see them plus when I take them out they are a bit rough on the inside of my mouth.
