I also have a nickel allergy and have full metal on the bottom and top (with ceramic on the front 6 on top). I told my ortho and she had to order in special nickel free wires but other than that there was no problem. The wires were about €100 extra.

Definitely tell your ortho just in case!

I got my lowers put on before my uppers because they were the most work. But my lowers moved much quicker than expected so they're now ahead of schedule, which means I should get my lowers off 2 months before my uppers (fingers crossed!). I'm not sure what kind of treatment you're having but 10 weeks is an incredibly quick time to move teeth - maybe your ortho was just being very optimistic? It's better that your teeth move safely rather than forcing them to move quickly...
