Re: Vivera retainer replacement - rescan required?
Thanks for the feedback, Dan. My dentist didn't mention any concerns with the fit of my existing retainer. They just said that there is no way to order more retainers without being rescanned. I thought Invisalign kept the records, and can easily remake the existing retainer.

Vivera retainer replacement - rescan required?
After several years, I've used up my 4 Vivera retainers, and want to order a new set, but my dentist wants to perform a rescan, even though my existing retainer fits just fine.
Should my dentist be able to order a new set without the rescan?

Re: Fresh Guard by Efferdent
I just got a tweet from @sonicbrite that it was acquired by @danleePulse (Danlee Medical Products).
I also tried Fresh Guard and I didn't like it either. In fact, it seems like the product would get into the air and I would inhale it!
Hopefully Lynn starts to carry SonicBrite again soon!

Fresh Guard by Efferdent
Since Sonic Brite is no longer available, I was searching for alternatives, and learned about Fresh Guard by Efferdent.
Has anyone tried it? What do you think of it compared to Retainer Brite?
Lynn, do you plan to carry this product?
Thanks!

Anyone have 4 or more refinement stages?
I was just prescribed a 4th refinement (at ~20% additional cost to my treatment :( ). In general, is it common or rare to require 4 or more refinement stages? I was completely compliant with my wear schedule throughout treatment. Note: I'm on the "Assist" product. Does the 3 refinement lim...

New invisalign material - SmartTrack
I just got my new set of aligners, made with SmartTrack. The aligners go on and off much easier.

Midcourse vs refinement
I had an interesting situation that I wanted to share... My original treatment plan was done using impressions (11U/13L) After 10U/10L, I had a midcourse scan using the optical scanner and I was prescribed two more trays on the lower and no more on the upper. After that, I had another scan done for ...

Re: What led you to choose invisalign or similar?
My reasons:
1. Ease of cleaning since the aligners are removable
2. Cosmetically less visible than traditional braces
3. Treatment time. My understanding is that Invisalign can be faster than traditional braces in some cases (is this an accurate statement, Dr. Tam?)

Wha is a "virtual C chain"?
I'm almost completed with my treatment, but I have a bit of a gap between two teeth where IPR has been done throughout my treatment.
My dentist said i may need a "virtual c chain" to correct the gap.
What is that?
Thanks!

There's also the official Invisalign cleaning crystals. That's what I use.

Re: iTero Digital Impressions
My dentist just got the iTero system, and my scan was done while the iTero trainer was present. In my case, I experienced a bit of discomfort while the clinician scanned my molars because of the limited space to get the scanner back there. It probably didn't help that the clinician wasn't well train...

Re: iTero Digital Impressions
I had an orthodontist tell me that the itero scanner can be more accurate than impressions, because the mold can distort somewhat.
I'm curious if the scanner makes a big difference in the final outcome of the treatment?

Re: Hello! I have no pain with 1st trays , is this normal?
When I got alignment number 2, it felt tighter than the first one. I also didn't get my attachments until a few days after the first aligner.
I also experienced mild headaches when starting each new aligner.

Re: Let's be honest about how many hrs per day we wear align
My own personal opinion, I suspect that they inflate the number somewhat to allow for some "user error". They realize that we are human, and if they didn't allow for some cushion, there could be many unhappy customers when they run into problems. I think of it like the speed limit -- yeah,...
