any staining after bracket removal?

I found out today that I'm getting my braces off off on Jan 8th!! It's been 2 years, I'm super pumped! But I'm a little worried about what my teeth will look like after the brackets come off. I drink about a cup of coffee 5 days a week & I'm worried I'll have bracket outlines from staining. Anyo...

elastics - am i almost done? -these are way painful!

this has probably been asked before, but i heard that getting elastics on can sometimes mean you are in the final stages of fixing the teeth. any truth to this? i've had my braces for 1 year and 2 months now, and i just got elastics on. i will have them on until at least April, because that's when m...

anyone get debanded earlier than expected?

my ortho originally gave me a sentence of 24 - 30 months, but in one of my recent appointments he told me my teeth were moving fast. (i'm at the 10 month mark now). does this mean i have a chance of getting them off early? if so, what is a reasonable amount of months that one might get subtracted fr...

9 mo into treatment, moving out of state before completetion

A lot of changes have been made within my current company & everyone is unhappy here & lots of employee's are job hunting. However, I'm having a hard time finding another job in my current city. (i probably need to move to a larger city) I really would prefer to finish out my treatment here ...

nerve damage from braces?

Is this common or possible with adult braces? Today after lunch I brushed my teeth & there was some pain coming from an upper premolar - sort of like the pain I have with a tooth that has a tiny bit of a receding gum. I then drank some water right after & got a even stronger shooting pain, t...

Re: sarpe vs extractions

archwired, i have a round face with chubbier cheeks (not overweight, just naturally round) so i definitely don't want to make it any wider. yeah, def something to consider. i am leaning towards extractions, even though most othos push the sarpe. I am the same facial type, round face with wide cheek...

Re: how do i tell if a bracket has moved?

ok thanks. i didn't think it could shift w/o it being loose or looking totally wonky, but i'm a newbie & i was unsure.

how do i tell if a bracket has moved?

is the bracket going to be loose? I have one in my mouth currently that looks like it may have moved to the left slightly & that tooth is killing me today.. but I'm not 100% sure it actually moved, I can't completely remember the placement of it when i first got it. it's not loose, so does that ...

Re: Initial consult - Extractions or not?

my question is sort of along the same lines. i was told before they got xrays/molds, etc that i may need extractions, but he wasn't sure. then after he received those things he said i would need extractions if i didn't get sarpe... but he said he could not tell me how many. shouldn't he know? have a...

Re: sarpe vs extractions

if anyone knows ortho jargon, the ortho that i didn't go to that was going to do the filing gave me this diagnosis list: Class I Left Molar, Class II Right Molar 25% Overbite 2 mm Overjet Right Posterior Crossbite Anterior Crossbite Maxillary Right Lateral Moderate Maxillary Crowding Mild-Moderate M...

Re: sarpe vs extractions

i'm 27, yeah... i def did not want to get the expander without the surgery. there were 2 orthos that i went to that were older (the ones that said surgery), i really preferred the one that said he could file my teeth to make space if i didn't get the surgery. but his office would have been harder to...
