Ortho says I will have the permanent bottom retainer AND a removable one for the bottom. Has anyone had this? What type of removable retainer on the bottom?

You're right... It doesn't hurt, but I'm thinking it will when they pull out the molar bands! Jan 30 is my debanding date... Guess we will find out!

My gums have grown up around my molar bands, or the bands are pushed up into my gum-line. Will my gums bleed when the bands are removed?

YES. Totally worth the money. Some lukewarm water before brushing just feels so good on tender gums. It's amazing what you missed while brushing and flossing. Lots of gunk still comes out when WaterPiking!

When should I schedule my teeth cleaning? I was thinking getting it done right after they came off, but are they too sore after the debanding?

Normal visit, then: First visit: wired didn't get clipped at normal appt. Could not handle it for a whole 6 weeks, went in to have it clipped. Go see the specialist. From what I've heard, TMJ can get bad if left untreated. Not to scare you, just to make you aware.
