Re: I prefer my teeth with Invisalign

Yea - in the past year I've worn them, 4 people have said something about them. Most people would not say a thing though. The 2 were former invisalign wearers and 1 was a guy currently in braces. The fourth? my 6 yr old nephew - he was so fascinated by them and kept asking if he could touch them I'v...

Re:

Placing just the correct amount of material in the tray is key. Many offices fill the upper tray with PVS material when it only needs to be placed in a horseshoe shape along shape of the upper arch. That being said, it will be fantastic when Align accepts either 3-D x-rays or intra-oral scans rathe...

Re:

you're lucky that she shaved off the excess, the first time I did it, the girl put WAY too much stuff in the tray, it went down my throat (can't believe i didn't throw up or choke) and when she took them out, you could see the long piece that went down my throat and she was like, "oh, that's w...

Re: I prefer my teeth with Invisalign

I'm on my final tray - 24 and waiting for refinements and my teeth look a lot better with the aligners. They look like normally shaped teeth. When my trays are out, I notice they're uneven - the base of one front tooth is not leveled. I spoke to my dentist about this and he said we'll deal with the ...

Re: The pain is making me so sour...

Aditi, It sounds like you have a lower pain threshold which makes the process seem unbearable. I'm not very good with pain either until you mentioned percocet, I forgot about the percocet I took a couple times (I got them following the wisdom teeth removal and frenectomy I had while waiting for my a...

Re: Impressions question

When the lab tech took my impressions, the dentist wasn't too happy with the top ones so he re-did them. Hopefully, the aligners are fine and you should not have any issues with your aligners.

Re: Invisalign on the go

They recommend not to use toothpaste as it's too abrasive on the aligners. I carry a ziploc bag with a travel toothbrush and toothpaste. Once I'm done eating, I brush my teeth, rinse the aligners and pop them back in.

Re: number of refinements

[quote="Aditi"]This is not my thread but I do have to say that when a person has intractable pain for 20+ weeks and is on percocet and tramadol for it that there is something wrong. My attitude is not changing because this process is twisting one of my bottom teeth and it is not going back...

Re: The pain is making me so sour...

Aditi, I know how you feel, but try to stick with the program. I understand you're in a lot of pain, but it's not going to be permanent. I started mine in January and I'm almost at the end of the first phase - I want to get refinements. The reason I stuck with it is it's not permanent - a few months...

Re: number of refinements

[quote="Aditi"]Good lord I never even considered the thought of "refinements", I'm sour enough as it is about this whole process. :yuck: I was considering stopping halfway through but my dentist convinced me to keep on with it. Halfway through and my teeth are looking pretty good...

Re: number of refinements

OMG - now I'm getting nervous. When I saw my dentist last week, he said maybe 5 aligners - I told myself maybe 10. I just hope it's not more than that. I can't wait for life without attachments though.
