Met with surgeon again
I met with my surgeon 2 weeks ago. I am going to be getting my upper jaw moved forward 10mm and my bottom jaw back 1-2mm. I go to see him again in 2 days. I'm worried about what my nose will look like and if I will need my chin done. I have also heard of people getting liposuction / lipostructure at...

Re: Can't hardly wait.....
Ok, well I don't feel as far from the big race as I thought. The surgeon's office has already got approval for the surgery. I spoke with them last month. They called me to remind me to update my referral to them with my insurance so there wouldn't be any delays. Funny, I have one referral for the su...

Can't hardly wait.....
Ok, this past week I went to my orthodontist and had final impressions done as well as some wax bite things. I go back on 5 Jan to discuss the molds and if I am ready to see the surgeon. He thinks I am, but wanted to make sure and have up to date molds to send to the surgeon (this was the 4th set). ...

Child with jaw pain
My 12 year old daughter and I see the same orthodontist. We both LOVE the orthodontist and staff. They are great. They service a lot of the military community here and will do what they can to work with us and our schedules. He really impressed me when we first moved here, went to my daughters 1st c...

Re: Weight lose after surgery
Ok, I guess I made it sound as if I wanted to lose a lot of weight. Not if I can't eat. I have read a lot of blogs where people have a really hard time getting the calories. I am not looking forward to the liquid thing. I have 4 kids, I need the energy to keep up with them (2 will be in soccer and 1...

Re: Children and surgery
thanks! It really helps to know I am not a mean mommy for wanting to keep my kids home. I really felt that having them see my "change" from the begining would be best, but I still did not want to scar them for life!
Thank for the help!!!!!!!

Weight lose after surgery
I am sure this question has been asked on here before, but I need ti know....how much weight have people lost after double jaw surgery? I am about 50 lbs over weight to begin with, so I am not worried about losing weight. I have read where some found it easy to "eat" calories afterwards an...

Re: Anyone here had a bad experience/result with jaw surgery
Interesting question. I never think about that. I try to keep focus on the great possibility of no more pain.
Sorry I can't be any help.

Re: Unnoticed Underbite
I have a severe underbite. It has gotten worse as I have gotten older. Surgery is really my last option. It had gotten to the point where I have constant jaw pain with migraines. This was everyday. I was seen by several specialists, used specialized mouth guards, ect... I was told by everyone right ...

My ortho told me I would be in braces 2 more years!!!! I am having my lower jaw moved back and upper jaw moved out. Sorry, not sure what...

Columbus, GA
I'm new here. I was wondering if any one has had surgery in Columbus, GA. My insurance company approved me to see Dr. John Scuba, M.D., D.D.S. I know my orthodontist has worked with him before and likes him. He also works with a lot of military and their family members, so I figured he has to be goo...
