I got my upper and lower Hawleys on Tuesday also! I have to wear 24/7 until my next appointment in 4 weeks. They have been very easy to get used to.......I still have a little lisp but I have been practicing my talking in the car and it gets a little better every day!

I just finished with elastics after 7.5 months.....I have only a few weeks left before debanding.

I am 17 months into a 20 month estimated brace time. At my December 12th adjustment the ortho told me I was getting close to completion and he just needed to close a few gaps that were the result of shaving between my teeth (to get rid of triangles). I now go to the ortho weekly for the minor tweeks...

I had my teeth "shaved" for the first time in August and then again in October. The reason for the shaving was to get rid of the little "black triangles" between my top front 6 teeth. Ortho use the little slither of sandpaper and then the little circular drill and it did not hurt...

At age 48 I don't even worry about the wrinkles anymore...but the good news is that I have noticed that my smile dimples are more pronounced now!!

My ortho has pre-pasted disposable tooth brushs that are used to brush before our adjustment. Check with your ortho, he may be able to provide to you for free like my does.
