5 years in we finally have a surgery date! I'm booked in for early March, last big hurdle before the braces come off! I'm nervous about the surgery, but pleased to finally see some progress after such a long wait.

Hi all, I finally have a date for surgery after a 5 year wait! Hooray for progress towards getting my braces off! Just wondered if anyone can give me some ideas of important questions to ask the surgeon at my consult tomorrow? I've made a few notes already, but always good to have ideas from people ...

Wow, been a while since I checked in here! Nearly 3.5 years in and the past 18 months we've just been stuck in a holding pattern waiting for surgery (while I moved to a new city, started a new job and dealt with some other health issues haha). The orthodontist(s) have done all they can at the moment...

none so far I'm only on day 4 though with only one elastic so far on the left. early days yet! I did, however, swallow my fair share of wax in the beginning

ok, quick update :) I'm 6.5 months in... it's gone so fast for the most part! 1/6 of the time has already passed! I haven't noticed huge changes, but things have changed a little bit. You've made amazing progress in such a short time! How are you going with the elastics? I just got some on Monday... ouch! They're slowly getting better though.

different every time so far. Anywhere between 4 and 8 weeks. We're gravitating towards 4 the last couple times to keep powerchains fresh, but because of scheduling conflicts, it's going to be 5 this time.

I'm probably the slowest I think. I had my first consult in December 2011 and finally got braced in January 2013. I wanted to do it all much faster, but between only having one orthodontist in the region who's very tightly booked, and needing a surgical consult, it all took pretty long. I definitely...

Really? I'm not seeing it at all. There's been little changes here and there, but I don't see a big difference.

Can't wait for next weeks adjustment! The top chain looks disgusting and very stained hoping I can choose a colour again this time, not a fan of clear at all! I've noticed little changes do far which has been nice. Curious what next week will bring!

You should be fine I went straight back to work. Just remember the pain killers the first 3-4 days. Take them regularly even if you're not hurting at first

Wow, been a while since I've updated! I've had 2 adjustments now and many more trips in between for poky wires and popped off o rings. So far so good after the last adjustment. Last adjustment they put a thicker wire on top, extended the chain on the bottom to 2 more teeth and added a chain all the ...

I'm one of very few adults, but it doesn't bother me. I can't get in before 3, so always have afternoon appointments when the waiting room is packed. I've had a few morning appointments when there was hardly anyone there, but being self employed I can't get there until after I finish work for the day
