Re: Finishing up: adjusting bite, fixing front

[quote="Glandyover"]I bet a lot of people get really active here at first when getting braces is a new thing and uncomfortable but once you get used to them it really is kind of boring, isn't it? And it's funny that we think of it as boring because it really just means they're part of your...

Re: Finishing up: adjusting bite, fixing front

Thanks, Fosterp -- you are a very generous person, offering kudos when you're feeling not so good. :-( I was feeling the same as you just a couple of months ago, thinking I'll NEVER get these darn things off, hearing the "soon" word too but never getting a definitive answer. It's such a de...

Finishing up: adjusting bite, fixing front

I've been absent from this board for the past 20 months or so, while I went through the boring "waiting" phase of my braces and felt I had nothing much to say. I'm coming up on 2 years in braces next month, and am getting them off!!!!! I was 55 when I started and now am 57, so it's been qu...

Re: Another braces story

Luchababe, I feel your pain. We must be around the same stage in our braces, nearly to the end but not as close as we keep hoping we are. :-( I keep setting myself up when I go to my braces appointments, thinking the ortho will surprise me by taking them off -- ha ha ha ha! And of course I'm always ...

Re: Old and Frustrated

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. Venting is healthy! At the age of 56, I've had my braces on for 14 months now and just got some kind of TADS appliance installed on the roof of my mouth to correct my overbite. While I'm excited to be in this new phase, the appliance is truly awful: it...

Re: Finally, a debrace date!

Congratulations! I'm envious, and I sure hope it's not going to take 3 years. :-( You must be over the moon with happiness! My sister is a bagpiper and told me she'll come play the pipes when I get my braces off. LOL! I think that will be very appropriate! :-)

Re: orthodontic treatment in another city

I drive 4 hours each way to see my ortho, and so far have never had a problem, thank goodness. But I do worry every time I drive away from the office what I'll do if something goes wrong. I would sure hate to drive back again 4 hours just to fix a small problem. I would love to have her closer, but ...
