Re: How many attachments before you wish you had normal brac

Funny... I was JUST thinking this. I feel the exact same way. Invisalign just makes your teeth look weird... whereas with regular braces at least everyone knows what they are and aren't thinking your attachments are weird deformed teeth. I get that both are very uncomfortable... but yeah, at least w...

Re: gunky trays after just 5 days

I know! It's strange... they said nothing but toothpaste and water, and were very clear about absolutely no denture/retainer cleaner. I don't get it. I bought some retainer brite equivalent last night and it's done an OK job, not great though. But I think these trays just may be "damaged" (gunk/smel...

gunky trays after just 5 days

Hi all, My trays have started smelling and getting gunky after just 5 days of treatment... I can't imagine what a week and a half from now will be like! I've been brushing them with toothpaste (as per ortho's advice), and I have read that that makes them worse, so I suppose I should stop? But then w...

Re: Really uncomfortable

Thanks Stephskare! I definitely agree... I had an extreme clausterphobic moment the other night with them in! Just wanted to rip them right out... and had a bit of anxiety around it too. Seems silly! But I guess it does happen. I'm happy to report it's day 4 now, and I am feeling better about this w...

Re: Really uncomfortable

No... I appreciate your bluntness. I guess I'm just feeling a bit dejected... and worried if I already feel like calling it quits, what will I feel like in two months/6 months/a year. I'd love to have my teeth straightened, but I'm not sure the cost, commitment, and pain is worth it, now that I know...

Really uncomfortable

I'm on Day two of my first aligners, and I'm feeling awful :( My teeth are ACHING and in pain... even just to touch them with the tip of my finger hurts. I have long cuts down each side of my cheek (I think I'm somehow chewing it in the middle of the night?). Sores on my lower inside lips too. I've ...

Freaking Out

Hi all, Longtime lurker, occasional poster here, and I need some help. I decided to take the plunge and go for invisalign and now I'm having MAJOR regrets. Of course I paid before I got the ClinCheck back (stupid, I know - but that was this ortho's policy), and now I just found out that my treatment...

Re: newbie question: dentists vs. orthos

Thanks for the info! It's kind of what I feared. But at the same time, I have heard of people successfully treated by a dentist (even seen some posts here). I guess it all depends on the dentist and their experience, so I will be sure to ask. As well, I kind of figured since my case is pretty simple...

newbie question: dentists vs. orthos

Hi all! I've been considering invisalign for, well, years now! And I've been lurking on this site for the past few months. What a great resource! I've gone on a few consults (I live in Canada) and the price difference between dentists and orthos is HUGE here. I can get full treatment with a dentist ...
