Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

Just got back from the ortho! Let's see...what did we do? More kinks in the lower wire plus some "tightening" of the wire itself, and a "gentle" powerchain on top. Hah...gentle...very funny. Every time I get a powerchain I end up so sore and owwy and grumpy! This does not bode we...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

How odd...I stopped getting e-mail notifications when a new post was added to this thread. Thank you very much for all of your kind comments! Individual reply time! GillyWeed - According to the original estimate, I was supposed to be in braces for about 14 months. However, since I got 3 out of 4 of ...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

It's been a year in braces...whoooo! [/color] :-)o :-)o :-)o As promised, here are some one year comparison photos. I actually wish I had taken a whole lot more photos last September, but I was too traumatized to think clearly. Oh well! Here I am RIGHT after getting home from the ortho. My poor lip...

Re: Betsy's getting braces

Hi BetsyBug, It looks like we have very similar lower tooth positioning! Isn't it such a pain that the lower teeth seem to move sooooo slowly in comparison to the uppers? I think it is really cool that you started out with colored ligs...it seems like most people (myself included) had to work up the...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

Kitsune, your teeth look great!!! You have such nice shaped teeth too, and I wouldn't worry about the staining I think they look fine. I have a couple teeth that need to extrude to get up in the "right playing field" as well. Though I have been promised the torture of some elastics to do ...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

I'm getting close to one year in these things! I hardly think about them except for the times when my teeth are sore after an adjustment, or when there is something poking me (like right now...grumble!). I will post comparison photos on the actual date of my brace-a-versary, but for now, here are so...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

EbonyQ , thank you so much for your reply! That does make sense. My ortho is all action and bare minimal explanation (although I do still like him a lot...that's just his MO), so I really have no idea what his reasoning could be. I just get tired of getting a tastebud caught in between my teeth if ...

Re: Kitsune's Amazing Adventure with Braces

It’s embarrassing how long I’ve neglected my poor story. I truly feel sheepish!   In between craaaazy things going down at work, my husband taking multiple business trips (with my camera!), and my own vacation/requisite trip back home, I have found it difficult to focus on my brac...

Re: Full Metal Bracket Nightmare

I'm getting the ceramic brackets. Does anyone know if those hurt worse or about the same as the metal ones. I'm not really sure about any differences other than the looks obviously. Ceramic brackets are generally larger than metal brackets, and in my experience, the edges are scratchier. Despite th...

Re: Lig colours (colors)

Waaaah!!! Can't decide on the colors my ligs should be. I initially wanted to go with my favorite color black, but when I contemplate it, it just seems soo... basic... Go with what your heart desires! If I was in your shoes, however, I would wait to see what colors they carry at your ortho's...

Re: When will my braces stop hurting my cheeks?

I'm seconding what Sita has said. I wear wax a few nights a week (I'm 8ish months in braces at this point) because the wires and brackets leave indentations and sores in the front of my mouth while I sleep. Some people here have magical mouths that never need wax after the first few days/weeks of br...

Re: GillyWeed's Adventure with Braces!

Glad to hear everything is going so smoothly for you! Normally I have an incredibly high pain tolerance, but when it comes to my mouth, I turn into a huge wuss (I guess this is why I whine in my thread so much). Also, I was one of those "lucky" people who developed dry socket after ...

Re: A worrying observation - front tooth is longer than the

Over the course of my treatment so far, I discovered that one of my front teeth is longer than the other. My ortho told me that when I am finished, he will just even them out a bit. I can't wait!
