Re: The trials and tribulations of being braced at age 28

Thanks for all the support everyone! I didn't end up getting in to see the dental surgeon but I am feeling a whole lot better. I heard that you can put oil of cloves on an extraction site and it will feel a lot better, so I went out looking for that yesterday but couldn't find it anywhere  I j...

Re: The trials and tribulations of being braced at age 28

Well lucky me, I do believe I have the dry sockets that I was so afraid of getting... I wasn't in that much pain until about 3 days after the extractions. It is now the 5th day and almost unbearable. I will be calling my dental surgeon today to ask what to do. I can't believe how much this hurts. Ev...

Re: Insert Witty Title Here (Mauvaise gets braced at 41)

LOL :-* You're opening monologue (if you will) had me in absolute hysterics! Congratulations on starting your braces journey! I do not have braces yet either as I just had all four of my wisdom teeth out and am waiting to recouperate before getting braces on. I, as well, will have self-ligating bra...

Re: The trials and tribulations of being braced at age 28

WISDOM TEETH HAVE BEEN REMOVED! I am just that much closer to getting my braces on. I have been home now for about an hour and am still frozen all over so no pain as of yet :D . I don't remember much... the anesthesiologist came in and started talking to me about Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street. ...

Re: Has anyone had both traditional AND self-ligating braces

Thank you Catgyrl! It is so nice to have an opinion from someone who has experience in both types, and knows what she's talking about! I really do appreciate your straightforward answer and for not making me feel like an a$$ LOL. I think I will continue with my plans to get Damons...

Has anyone had both traditional AND self-ligating braces?

I am booked to get self-ligating braces at the end of the month, but every time I talk about them someone comments and says that self-ligating are a marketing scam and are no good, while others swear by them. I know each is only speaking from experience, so I was hoping that there would be someone ...

Re: Hey Everyone!

I am looking up your youtube video right now! I am interested to know about the Damon braces as I am getting them at the end of the month. I have made a few posts on here and other boards about them and have encountered some quite negative reactions from other people, mostly implying that I'm a &qu...

Re: My "long face " smile is gone :)

@Dressy1 I was just giving my opinion. I didn't make a statement that self-ligating braces are any better or any worse than others. My ortho didn't tell me bs, he gave me some options and one of them was Damons. I went to other orthos and they wanted to pull teeth. It's the pulled teeth that can ma...

Re: New to Braces

Good luck and congrats on starting your braces journey! And good for you for getting yourself braces and fixing your bite, even when others say you don't need braces. I'm glad to hear you got over the first week and things are going much better for you. I'm sure the 24 months will go by fast if you...

Re: on the road to a new smile...

That's so great that you are seeing movement already!

Your clear braces on top are very nice and are almost unnoticeable. I can only hope that mine look that good when I get them on. Good luck on your journey and I can't wait to see progress pics!

Re: Pinkorchid's journey to a perfect smile! :)

Congratulations on your journey, only four days away you must be so excited! I always thought if I ended up getting braces I would dread them, but I've found that I can barely stand the excitement... I can't wait! :-* We will be getting our braces on the same month so I will definitely be following...

Re: My "long face " smile is gone :)

Good for you that you are noticing positive changes in your face! I don't know what exactly caused or fixed that, but I will mention that I have that long face problem right now. My ortho is putting self-ligating brackets (damon braces) on me because he said that these would widen my smile and make ...

Re: SimpliClear - the "world's only completely clear braces"

Hi Mettle! I found your post very interesting as I am scheduled to get Damon Clear braces on August 30. I didn't know there was such a thing as completely clear braces, so I looked online like you suggested. Unfortunately, I live in Canada and it doesn't appear that they are offered here  That'...

Re: The trials and tribulations of being braced at age 28

I've just been reading other posts on here and I find that a lot of people are saying that they had to get moulds or impressions done of their teeth before they got their braces on. But when I went to my consultation with my ortho, he only took an x-ray. The next appointment I have is for August and...
