Re: Sliding Genioplasty... I got one.

I consulted with Dr. Relle recently for sliding genioplasty. I didn't bring in any pictures but hearing you say that makes me wish I did! I just didn't think there was anything that could be done to alter the shape of the chin. I did ask him if it would make my chin look wider and he said no. He sai...

3D imaging services

I am wondering if there are any independant 3D imaging services that can show you what you'll look like before a procedure is done. That way, you could see if it's something you really want before consulting a ton of surgeons. I'm thinking of a service that would be comparable to an independant lab,...

Re: Too old?

You guys mean SO much to me. To be able to come here and read your posts...Tracy, talk about major inspiration! The last time I was at the OD office, he told me the small jaw may be what's causing my gums to recede. I don't know for sure, but I'm going to check back into this, this year after I have...

Re: just as good....?

Yeah, I hear ya. I guess I keep hoping someone will drop a new name, maybe more obscure but just as good, not as expensive, still high work ethic, and sense of what looks good. I wish I could just let it all go, and I've tried, but I can't. This goal of mine, it's something I've always wanted so bad...

just as good....?

Does anyone know of any maxillofacial surgeons who're purported to be as competant as Dr's G&A?

Re: strategy

The idea of going to the surgeon first, then seeing the OD sounds better. I'll do it that way.

Re: Too old?

OMG, I am laughing good now!!! Treevernal, I'd go tell them I want my money back  Sometimes I just think that medical is "weird." Lots of weird... I went to see 2 OS here, and one OD. The OD was like, "stick out your jaw, see, no, that's too much. It wouldn't look right if you go...

strategy

I would really like to schedule a consultation with Gunson/Arnett. The thing is, it'll be until October before I can go back into braces. I'd have to go with an OD in AK, who will want to work with an OS in AK, not CA. So, do I go see G/A before seeing my OD? Do I get an overall plan together with t...

Too old?

Is 35 years old "too old" to go for braces and jaw surgery? I've included an up to date, more accurate, head on shot of my face. Keep in mind, I have been to see a few surgeons who've told me what I already know to be true-I have a small mandible. I'm wanting to have this fixed, and have m...

Re: The smallest things people go in for

I did a skype consult. He is def the nicest guy ever. Not pushy, not pretentious...very grounded. He said he wouldn't do a genioplasty because it wouldn't suite my face. He said he'd do an implant, if I wanted to, but wasn't thrilled about that option either. I have to say though, skyping over the p...

Re: The smallest things people go in for

That sounds typical of any surgery services. My experience was so different, because both the orthodontist and the max/fax surgeons all said I would do just as well to leave it alone. But, they did leave the door open and seemed rather genuinly ready to help. I guess I just need to go in and ask wha...

Re: Is jaw advancment after genioplasty a good idea?

Yup they were goint to pull out my lower two and pull those teeth back. Then get my jaws preped for surgery like about a yr, or a yr and a half in they would do the surgery. Then leave the braces on for post op and then do the finishing touches to perfect the back back since it becomes off by a lon...

The smallest things people go in for

Hi everyone, I stopped visiting the forum a few months ago when I thought I had put it out of my mind to do the sliding genioplasty. I just needed some space to clear my head, make some financial moves, and get my act together. Now I'm in a better spot-good health, good head, good heart, etc. :P I f...
