Thank you for your replies guys :) I agree the 95% statistic is rather out - maybe this is down to the recording of figures? I was discharged after 1 year with them saying "oh, it will come back" - so maybe my numbness isn't recorded anywhere... I should probably get copies of my medical r...

Massage is good too to get the fluid draining :) And yes, sleep upright... I made the mistake of falling asleep on one side one night and all the fluid went to one side of my face, so I looked normal on one side and completely bloated on the other!... was very funny... for my family...! Hi there, Don't worry - you really may not be in much pain at all - as TitaniumAdded said, it may not be too bad, supprisingly! It's understandable you are wary of taking morphine though - My own experience of this is... When I came around after surgery I expected the pain to hit me like a hammer......
