Re: Just got implant surgery! Discoloured temp tooth?
Thanks for sharing Sayrah! Yeah, you're right, I don't think the blood is gonna come off. :( That's good you got several temps, though! Did your doc charge you extra for each temp? Mine costs $450 so if it costs the same for another temp I suppose I'll just grin and bear it until my permanent, haha....

Re: Implants & bone loss?
I had good bone but I ended up needing a bone graft around my lower front teeth (lost some bone due to braces moving them I guess). It's not super painful but you do have to be careful to leave the grafted area alone, especially the first 3 days or so, because it bleeds a lot! (Then again it could h...

Just got implant surgery! Discoloured temp tooth?
Finally got my braces off today and an implant/temporary tooth in! Also, a bone graft. So far it doesn't really hurt, although it's pretty massively bruised and bloody up in the gum area, but it definitely looks a lot worse than it feels. I am a bit concerned about the temporary tooth, as ...

Re: Implants & bone loss?
Hi Tacoma,
Thanks for sharing! I am also a bit worried about gum loss as well - the area where the missing tooth has a lower gumline than the surrounding teeth. How much gum loss did you have to warrant the gum graft?
Thanks!

Re: Got SPEED braces today, CONSTANT annoying pressure!!!???
I'm sorry to hear about the pain. My first 2 weeks in braces was pretty painful, and I was really sad that I couldn't enjoy all the delicious foods without something or the other cutting into my cheek. But you become immune to it pretty quickly, and soon you'll be going back to your old routine with...

Re: retainers have been ordered
Yay! I finished my aligners today too! (Only have uppers though) I convinced my dentist to grind off my attachments (I think he'd been planning to leave them on until the retainers came) so I know the feeling - suddenly smooth, silky teeth! But it's funny wearing the last tray as retainer because I ...

Re: Is eating optional after braces
I had to be really careful about eating for about two weeks after getting braced, because the insides of my mouth were so scraped up and in pain, but after that I was pretty quickly back on a regular diet and snacking away like there's no tomorrow. So much for my initial hope that the braces came wi...

Re: What is the first thing you will eat after braces?
- Popcorn (not that I ever ate it often, but I think I will treat myself to them just because I suddenly can again!) Oh yes, and I will CHOMP on the kernels like there's no tomorrow! :D - Apples, whole - because I am tired of having to cut them up. Can't wait 'til I am able to sink my jaws into a ni...

Implants & bone loss?
Hi everyone, I'm getting a scan soon to see if I have enough bone in my jaw for an implant. I am congenitally missing a cuspid (adult one decided not to grow in). :GapToothed: However, due to the missing tooth, my teeth have shifted a lot. I am just about done my stint in braces, where the teeth are...

Re: Supposed to be debraced today, but... :(
Thanks for the reply! I'm not so anxious as to get the permanent crown immediately or anything...I am fine with an implant & a "flipper" until it's ready for the real crown. My main concern right now is the cosmetic aspect :) I just want something that will cover the big glaring gap, s...

Re: New guy
Hello! Good luck with that! Gap closing can be a pretty fun process - when I was having my premolar moved back to where it was supposed to go, it was like closing a gap (since I'm missing my canine, and the premolar had decided that made it OK to move in where the canine was supposed to be!) I'd sta...

Supposed to be debraced today, but... :(
Hey everyone! I've been lurking on the forum for a while, but this is my first time posting (after my braces treatment has almost completed, no less :D). I got my lowers braced (ceramic) on January 6, 2011, and got Invisalign on my uppers in February for some mild correction (which I just completed ...
