Re: Braces are off! Not sure of smile :-( could veneers or crowns help?
Thanks everyone for your kind replies. Yeah maybe it will take time to adjust to my new smile. I just feel I'd like some cosmetic work done, I've 4 crowns at the front and feel the teeth beside them don't look so good now beside the crowns. I probably felt I was going to have a more wider smile but ...

Braces are off! Not sure of smile :-( could veneers or crowns help?
Hey everyone Well my braces are off and I'm not sure I like my smile  Think I was hoping for a more rounded smile but it's been a journey of over 2 years and I had lower jaw surgery for a 12mm overbite which is now at 5mm. I feel my lips aren't closing but suppose that's because of my 5mm overb...

Re: 12mm overbite to 5mm, jaw has went back since surgery, tongue exercises? :-(
Thank you for your reply. Yeah I've been trying to get in contact with the surgeon and he's on holidays. I'm really worried as I'm meant to get my braces off in 2 weeks now and I've spoke to the ortho and he says there's nothing really he can do and is still planning on taking the braces off soon. I...

Hi again Oh I'm feeling so worried. I'm about 6 weeks post op and been getting on really well since surgery. Still some numbness in the left side of my lip/chin, been having this pain in my jaw, just below ear. I got lower jaw surgery (BSSO) done for my 12mm overbite/overjet. I think it's now about ...

I get this jerkin...

Re: Week 1 post-op & I'm eating mash. Can I do harm?Burning
Thanks for that sirwired. Recovery going not to bad now and on mashed foods, pasta etc and it feels great eating some food again. Worse part is the numbing and burning in my lower lip. Think it's starting to get to me now but will have to have more patience. I've still some swelling and am 3 weeks p...

Thanks samoorelaw and sirwired. I mashed up the beans with the mash and it was just lovely. Felt great to taste abit of food as such. No I'm not chewing so I hope I'm not doing any harm! Oh so the burning is a good sign, I'll welcome that :) I read somewhere that you take the splint out when eating ...

Week 1 post-op & I'm eating mash. Can I do harm?Burning lip?
Hello everyone Well I'm at Week 1 post-op and managed to eat mash and baked beans today :) I got lower jaw surgery (BSSO) done. Dr/Surgeon told me last week that I'm on liquid diet for 3-4 weeks but today I felt I'm sure I can eat this and it's just like shovel in and swallow as such (not chewing) b...

Re: Got my surgery date, roll on the 19th Nov, excited & ner
Yeah communicating is not the easiest sirwired :( I'm back to hospital for checkup next week and am hoping I've the elastics on the right hook at the back. Would it matter if I have it on the wrong hook and if it's on the hook beside?? Yes, I'd say on a general basis, the hooks you use are importan...

Re: Got my surgery date, roll on the 19th Nov, excited & ner
Hi Harmony, Glad to hear you got through to the other side :) Elastics are really important because they hold your jaw in it's new place and it's amazing how much things can move about in there. 12 weeks out and my midlines have been unmatched, came together and now in the other direction and it ha...
