Re: Problems chewing on my left side?

Thank you so much for all the tips, sirwired!! I've been flossing with a floss threader. It is tough to get back into the molars, but I did it last night, so maybe I can manage again tonight. I use ACT fluoride rinse every night too. Would it be problematic to rinse my mouth out with warm salt water...

Re: Problems chewing on my left side?

Hey chainreaction! I've never used a waterpik before, but it sounds heavenly. Is something like that just sold in a drug store? Last night I got some floss into those back molars for the first time, so at least this irritation has caused me to progress with that skill. I swished with warm salt water...

Re: Problems chewing on my left side?

Thank you Sita! I floss every night, but it's extremely difficult to get into those back molars. Guess I'll try again tonight to get the hang of it, and maybe it'll clear up.

Problems chewing on my left side?

I was wondering if any of you other braces-wearers had experienced this... Since about three months ago, I've had trouble chewing hard things (such as pretzels, chocolates, anything with a hard outer layer) on my left side. I've had braces for almost 10 months now, and never had this problem before ...

Re: Braces - the journey

Mannn, I had spacers for three weeks because of my ortho's schedule. :( I drank a LOT of ice water that month! Haha. At least the braces went on sort of easily. Hope you're feeling all right after getting the braces on! : )

Re: First Consultation

Man, the first time a dentist told me I would have to have braces again, I completely started tearing up in the chair. It sucks to hear, but will be so worth it when they're off! I got even closer to crying when the receptionist handed me the paper detailing how much the braces were going to cost......

Re: Dental Journey!!

Haha I know what you mean, shanmuffin! I get super excited as soon as I know the date for my next orthodontist appointment, just to see what they'll add on. I was really wanting to get into my braces as soon as possible too, especially because I was in spacers for three weeks beforehand... Do you ha...

Re: Dental Journey!!

Good News, Everyone! (channeling "Futurama" today) I know I already kinda showed this in my last post, but here are some more weird-looking comparison pictures. One month into braces vs. Three months: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l194/bridget51992/13.png So the main thing that was bot...

Re: Dental Journey!!

Thank you so much Stepher! And yes, I think he is a keeper too! ^_^ It makes me feel really happy that someone is so sweet about my having braces. Thank you White Fang! :) I think anyone who gets braces at any point after middle school has to be a little brave about it, or atleast confident enough t...

Re: Dental Journey!!

A photo of Day 1, a month in, and 2 months in, respectively: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l194/bridget51992/123.png Does anyone else see a difference? I still don't understand how the whole braces thing even works, or why my teeth would look like they've been brought down when I haven't even ha...

Re: Dental Journey!!

Hi Archwired! I had my last ortho appointment on Tuesday, July 5, and it was rather eventful. I got caps on my back molars, a new wire to reach them, and my personal favorite, new ligatures! I am not exactly enjoying the back molar caps at present. I woke up this morning with a big pain in the way b...

Re: Newly Braced 3 Weeks Ago!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry that one of your brackets got ripped off D: I think the coil is cool though, it definitely makes your braces unique! And yay for no extractions!!
Your pictures look really great, I can definitely see how things are already straightening out :)

Re: Dental Journey!!

I feel very silly now for getting discouraged, especially because I've only had my braces for one month. I guess seeing other people's changes within the first month got my hopes up too much! I guess we just want to see real progress so badly because it's a sign that we're doing the right thing for ...

Re: Dental Journey!!

No don't be sorry - I did have problems with pokey wires, but I was able to cover them up with wax relatively easily :)
