Slanted molar - due to ortho's molar band placing :(
Hey guys and gals I've noticed that my lower right molar is slanted ( I can feel half the tooth when my teeth are clenched), I'm at my last appointment before my debond :( The ortho says she can fix it but it will take months and isn't necessary - but I think a proper bite/occlusion is absolutely ne...

Really thin essix ?
Hey guys and gals,
just wondering if anyone has ever felt their essix was really thin ?
I compared mine to a friends and mine is extremely thin in comparison
I'm starting to think maybe my ortho just went for the cheaper option?

Using whitening gel with essix retainer?
Hi Guys
Does anyone else use their essix retainer ( the clear one ) for whitening ?
I'm getting debonded in a few days and was thinking of using my retainer with some gels but was worried about them damaging the retainer in some way
Thanks !

What stage am I at ? + gauge question
I've had braces for 4 years now I've got a 19x25 Ni-Ti wire on top and a 18x25 on the bottom. My ortho says I'm almost done and that the top is being adjusted at the roots. Does anyone know if the wires translate into a particular phase of treatment ? Also, with extractions is any midline perfect ? ...

Getting retainer-like appliance, anyone know what it is ?
So i've an appointment for next Tuesday to have a new appliance fitted on my lower arch.
My ortho told me that it'll be used to separate my upper and lower jaws temporarily while my upper teeth are moved in front over the bottoms.
Anyone have any idea what the name of this is ?

Re: Fangsbegone's story
Your extraction appointment should be a piece of cake! It'll just be really strange once you can chew again. Good luck! Thanks for the reply. Extractions went great ! I have to say that knowing so much about the procedure made me a little bit nervous , but after a half hour it was all over :D Eatin...

So here's the start of my story :-) it will be one filled with lots of (hopefully) interesting and enthusiastic posts. 8) My journey started back in March with my first appointment. Stepping into the orthodontists office was brilliant !, I have "fangs" ( raised canines) and was recently co...

Re: Braces - fix lisp
If it doesn't bother you - who cares?! :D I completely agree  but when I mentioned it to my ortho she almost gasped and said "you'll have to see a speech therapist about that" - fingers crossed when those power chains are put on and gaps closed I'll have no worries  When I first...
