I was able to choose a color, so I got a clear cobalt blue. I could have also gotten glitter and opaque colors. No decals or really fun stuff, though.

They were the absolute worst part of having braces for me. After that, the adjustments have hurt, but not for as long and as consistently.

Tylenol helps and so did, for me, cold things like milk shakes and ice cream.

Spacers really are evil. Pain killers helped while I had them in, but I was never able to forget about them.

The braces themselves don't bother me much most of the time. Only exception is after an adjustment. Otherwise I forget I have them.

Only when it is time to eat or just after an adjustment. Otherwise I tend to forget about them.

I know. And the flavor is meh.

Yeah, that moment with the wire off is so yucky. I am always relieved to have the wire put back on and the ligs in place.

When the bands were put on my molars, there was some glue residue. On one tooth it was a glop that also stuck to the next tooth. I couldn't floss at all between those teeth. I used toothpicks to get between those teeth and one day popped that bit of glue off. Very strange feeling... I like my metal ...

I have a powerchains for straightening some teeth and pulling them back away from the front of my mouth. I have issues with crowding and rotations, and no gaps. And yeah, they hurt. I was having a relatively painfree experience until I got a stiffer wire and some powerchains. Now I am really into so...

I had this the last time, too. All the teeth that my ortho is focusing on hurt like crazy. I live in Florida, so I stopped and got something cold to drink, because in the past cold has been good after an adjustment. Yikes, that hurt!

I changed orthos early on because one was incompetent and the next just didn't seem any better. Current ortho doesn't do small talk. She comes in, looks at my teeth, tells the assistant what needs to be done, asks if I have any questions and is gone. But she is good at what she does, on a tight sche...
