Re: October 2012 Buddies

Hey Trossi, I'm just your average brace wearer, no surgery for me but I just wanted to say that your results so far are amazing! The whole process looks so incredibly intense. I wish you the best in your recovery and the rest of your life. I hope your new teeth and jaw turn out to be everything you...

Re: October 2012 Buddies

Can't remember the last time I updated on here. I'm 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I went to the surgeon on wed and I have an infection in my upper jaw. Every time I lift my lip some really nasty stuff starts popping out of the incision lines. I started swelling up again on that side a few days before. T...

Re: October 2012 Buddies

Hey guys!! We're getting closer!! My pre surgical went really well. My surgeon was happy with everything. He was thinking of not doing the genioplasty but i told him if he thinks it will improve my profile at all to not hesitate and just do it. I really want to have a defined jaw. He also said that ...

For sure. My TMJ pain has gone up and down since the braces and some days it is so much worse than it has ever been.

Re: October 2012 Buddies

What have you guys bought in preparation for the surgery? I started buying things and I think I'll do a blog post with ...

Re: How do people come up with the money (just curious)?

Oh also.. I live in Canada and jaw surg is NOT free. you have to pay 100%. Unless you have a good healthplan with your employment. My jaw surgery is covered and I live in Ontario. Everyone I know who has had jaw surgery in Ontario has had it covered. The only portion I pay for is surgical planning ...

Re: orthognathic vs. nose surgery (rhinoplasty)? any advice?

You sound a lot like me. I'll be 26 this year and jaw surgery was a big decision. Prior to deciding on jaw surgery I was planning on having rhinoplasty for a few years beforehand. I know exactly how you are feeling but trust me, the more you look into it you will realize that a lot of the things you...

October 2012 Buddies

Hey guys, I haven't been posting on here too much but I wanted to start a topic for october surgeries. My surgery is booked for October 5th, and although it's over 2 months away I know the time will go by fast. I'd also like to get an idea of how far ahead other people are having pre surgery stuff d...

Re: How do people come up with the money (just curious)?

Get Canadian citizenship, or even better UK, they have the whole thing covered. It's an expensive journey though, even being Canadian it's been about $15 000 for the past 10-11 years of dealing with my bite. True but the treatment is often not of the same standard aesthetically speaking. I qualify ...

Has anyone had this problem?

I'm pre surgery. I've been in braces for over 13 months. I had a 3 mm anterior open bite, and an underbite. My Surgeon asked my ortho to decompensate my bite, he wanted it more open prior to surgery. My ortho and surgeon said I would be surgery ready for 2012, anywhere from Jan-April. As time went o...
