surgery center anyone?
Now I am at the point of looking for a good surgeon who will do the surgery in a surgery center in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I'm looking at getting a lefort 1. Also what did it end up costing? I can't afford getting this done in a hospital and my insurance won't pay due to age exclusion.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: insurance denied coverage due to age
I talked to someone yesterday at BCBS and asked about getting the hospital bill covered since the septoplasty is approved. The person told me it depends on how the hospital bills insurance. In other words they can't tell me either way ahead of time. In the mean time I am waiting to hear if my surgeo...

Re: insurance denied coverage due to age
Thanks for your imput everyone! I don't know yet how much the surgeon's going to charge for the surgery. I talked with someone at the office last week, when I found out about the surgery being excluded for coverage. She said she would ask the surgeon how much he would charge me, and told me to find ...

My insurance excludes this surgery for people over the age of 19. I'm 38.

Re: Independent Insurance Coverage?
Has anyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have success finding an Independent Insurance Company to pay for this surgery? I was just denied because my insurance excludes orthognathic surgery for over the age of 19. I feel defeated.

insurance denied coverage due to age
I found out today my surgery was denied due to being over the age of 19. I was told by the surgeons office that there is no appealing it. I'm very frustrated! Has this happened to anyone? Any advice? There seems like there has to be something I can do. The only good news is, it looks like BCBS will ...

Re: horseback riding?
So far it's only upper jaw surgery. They're moving my jaw up to fix an open bite. The Dr mentioned real quick that I might want to do a genio but I don't know enoigh yet to make that decision.
I can't imagion not riding for months waiting to recover. My horse is my prozac.

I hope to join this group, but it's looking more like Febuary for me. I'm sure you'll get more January buddies the closer you get. Good luck

horseback riding?
I haven't gotten a chance to ask my surgeon yet about how long till I can ride my horse after surgery. Are there any horse riders who know what is the wait time for riding again? I'm almost afraid to ask for fear of the answer being longer than I'm OK with.
Thanks in advance

Re: How long did you wait to hear back from insurance?
Thank you all for commenting. I am hoping they gave me the worse case scenario, but we'll see. I have an open bite and TMJ, so I feel confident that my insurance will come back approving it. I hope so anyway. I read that my insurance pays for surgery for TMJ. Time will tell...... I am 100% ready to ...
