Re: Dunc's Dental Dialogue

I'm really starting to think dentures may have been the way to go too... bad teeth (not due to hygene) seem to run in my family

50 Shades Of Grey... Tooth

Lmao, perhaps this tramatic experience was worth it just to write that subject line... ok, it's not, but that line sure is catchy! I also posted this on my regular update post, so if you're reading this, don't bother with that... it's the same. Greetings all... since my last update life has kept me ...

Re: The Story Of JennyLaughs Braces

Greetings all... since my last update life has kept me very busy. I had all but forgotten that I even had braces with everything else going on. That is, up until two Fridays ago. Keep in mind, I have had regular dentist checkups (with x-rays) and have been on the stellar orthodontic dental hygene ro...

Re: my teeth feel so achy!

Ibuprophen and wine at night when needed. Sometimes having some wine was the only way to catch a break from the pain. Luckily those phases don't last long.

Re: The Story Of JennyLaughs Braces

Well, after wearing elastics for two months, my bite has improved dramatically. I can now use both sides of my mouth to chew with again. All but my very front teeth are finally touching again as well. Not much was changed during my adjustment, I was just given a new elastic and way to wear it. Thing...

Re: nerve damage from braces?

I didn't have teeth sensitivity before braces but I sure have it now. I use Sensodyne toothpaste and that has helped a lot. I also have had the same kind of pain you are describing in different teeth at different times. I actually enjoy it because it reassures me that my braces are doing their job.

Re: I know this has been said a million times before, but...

I'm not sure how it goes for younger brace-faces, but I think for adults, people may notice them, they just have enough empathy to not mention them unless the subject is broached by you first. Or not. I know I sure notice when anyone else has braces :D

Re: Does having Braces make you feel cool?

I completely second what Klobird said... and I'm 29. I wish I could've felt this way in high school. Anyway, I don't dislike mine, I just wish they would do their job faster so I could eat normally again. I haven't been able to chew food properly since getting my elastics. I think when I very first ...

Re: Is it safe to assume that from a pain standpoint, the 1s

In my own personal experience, nothing I've gone through so far was truly unbearable, with the exception of the spacers. I really can't explain why, but those were just torture for me, but I don't think that was based on pain, more like annoyance. I believe I have a higher-than-average threshhold fo...

Re: My ortho just won't listen! (frustrated)

I think going to see another ortho for a second opinion would be my next step. Just ask them their opinion without giving any input and if what they say is a lot different than what your current ortho tells you, you may need to have a serious chat with your current ortho.

Re: The Story Of JennyLaughs Braces

So I went to my 15th orthodontic adjustment today expecting nothing more than the tweaking of a few wire ties and the changeout of my powerchains. Was I in for a surprise! They removed the big spring finally and engaged the wayward premolar on the bottom, the final remnant of my ridiculous overcrowd...

Re: The Story Of JennyLaughs Braces

Not really much to report for my last adjustment. I was actually going to skip it this month seeing as to how my next one is tomorrow, buuuuuuuut... I took the pics and did the editing work, might as well throw them on here! http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/ss112/Jennylaughs/Orthodontic%20Shots/P1...
