Re: When to see progress with damon braces?

Hi - I had Damon braces as well. I think I noticed progress within the first few months. Can't remember exactly b/c it was so long ago.

My ortho only prefers to use Damons. And it works great b/c I am happy with the results of him fixing my crossbite.

All the best to you.

Do you & can you eat with your retainers on?

Hi - so my ortho actually said he preferred that I eat with my retainers on. He initially told me this. But then he told me to try and if I really can't - then it's ok to take them off. The tech. actually told me to take them off while eating. I tried eating with my retainer on the first day - it wa...

Re: Does food still get caught in your teeth?

Hi - totally agree - no where near as bad as braces. Snowglobe - just like you, I am continuing on with the waterpik. I think b/c of my having braces, I have now developed good oral hygiene habits. :D I really hate the feeling of food stuck in my mouth so I still go rinse after I eat at home and in ...

Re: teeth and anxiety

Hi Anna - you actually have beautiful teeth. I really cannot notice the crossbite right now. I saw your before pictures in the other forum and from that - it's a major improvement & I think it looks great. I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. I too am a worrier and I think I find what someone s...

Re: Just wanted to share - braces off

Hello - thank you everyone for your well wishes. Dan - I know how you feel - going through the treatment, I thought that day would never come for me to get my braces off. I was actually supposed to get them off around 2 yrs. but ended up going almost 3 yrs. with them on. Hang in there. Now I'm all p...

Re: Perfectly fitting Essix is assurance of teeth staying pu

Hi Cadet - I totally understand about the paranoia. I was paranoid about even getting my braces off. And now I was thinking that's another thing for me to worry about now - my retainers/teeth shifting and moving, etc. I think if you wear your retainer like your ortho directs you - you should b...

Does food still get caught in your teeth?

Hello - so today I had my braces off and enjoyed a nice dinner with my family. But since I am so used to having braces on and having food caught/stuck in my braces - I kind of forgot what it was like before I got braces. So I did have food stuck/caught in my teeth. And it was soo funny b/c my husban...

Just wanted to share - braces off

Hello - after almost 3 years I finally got my braces off today. :D Can't believe that day was actually here and that I got them off. It feels surreal to me. And it feels weird/funny not to have my braces on. Just want to encourage those of you in braces that in the end it's totally worth it. All the...

Re: Well, eating sure isn't fun anymore...

Hi - totally know what you mean. Mine was the worst in the last part of my treatment. Had to wear vertical elastics all around. So I hardly snacked then - it was too much of a pain to take off the elastics and put them back on. And during my braces, it took me forever just to floss and brush my teet...

Re: How bad is my crossbite?

Hi Anna - I saw your teeth - they don't look bad at all. It doesn't even seem like you have a crossbite, unless I'm missing something. I think my crossbite looked worse than yours - mine was on the left side. My bottom left canine was totally sticking out and I would keep biting myself all the time ...

Re: Getting braces off - mixed feelings

Hi Anna - my ortho fixed my crossbite with braces, powerchains and elastics. I also had the lingual buttons.
I don't think it widened my smile. Still looks the same.

Re: Really Considering Orthodontics Again

Hi - I think if it's not bothering you a lot, just wait the few months while your teeth settle. But if bothers you a lot, then I would start looking around for some orthos. Maybe just ask your dentist for the referral now so you can start interviewing them and going in for consults. From my own expe...
