Re: Worst appointment ever!
Hello :) It's nice to see someone else doing SureSmile. I am curious, how many SS wires have you been through? Does your ortho ever add his own kinks? Do you ever get frustrated waiting for new wires? I have had two SS wires so far. I am due to have my third this week. But because my ortho did his o...

Re: Invisalign to Braces?
I am a pretty self-conscious person (otherwise I might not have pursued braces), and I work with the public. I have the Damon clears, which are pretty noticeable. After about 10 months of treatment, I realize nobody seems to care but me. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait until they're off (which I an...

Kate Middleton - Extractions?
I just saw a close-up profile shot of Kate Middleton in In Touch Weekly. It looks like she has only one bicuspid (it also looks like she has a veneer over it)...

Re: Facial contour/profile
I also think my cheekbones are more prominent. I had figured it was secondary to a combination of the bulk of my braces pulling my lips forward and my molar build-ups lengthening my face... just a guess, though.

Lifting Stains from Rubber Bands/Elastics
The o-chain over my front teeth, which was just placed last week, developed a yellowish tint after eating a sandwich with mustard.
Is there anyway to lift this? It didn't budge with hydrogen peroxide or whitening toothpaste.

Please feel free to tell me I don't look like I could possibly be 30. I like to pretend it has nothing to do with the braces...

Re: Will my teeth get centred, flossing and wire poking?
It does sound like they are trying to center your teeth... I am actually in a similar predicament. My biggest issues going in were my off-center midline (which was secondary to a congenitally absent left bicuspid) and my right canine, which protruded slightly. My right 1st premolar was extracted two...

Broken Fillings with Braces
Last week I broke off a filling without even noticing it was happening. The filling was on the corner of a molar that is next to a gap currently being closed with a power chain. I guess with the forces being applied, it didn't take much for it to be dislodged (or crumble? I am not sure what happened...

Tori Anne, I am sorry - that does look painful
But haha, I would love it if someone would bend my wire like that so my gap could be closed. I guess I am just a little impatient.

Re: Whitening before braces?
I used the Crest Whitening Strips for a few weeks before getting my braces. I was a little sensitive when they were put on, but it was still tolerable. I haven't had any trouble with brackets coming off (though I am just one person). I had been worried about the two-tone look with debanding, but oth...

I have the Damons with clear brackets on 6 of my top teeth. I really wish clear brackets were available for the bottoms, too. I feel the clear are much less noticeable - people often tell me that they didn't even notice my braces until they saw the metal brackets on my bottom teeth (which show when ...

Why doesn't it hurt?
I had my first adjustment this morning... To speed things along, the orthodontist put a much thicker archwire in my upper arch. Both he and the technician acted like I was going to be in a world of hurt today because of this. Well, it is 8 hours later and I don't feel a bit different. Has anyone els...
