So much to take into consideration, so much to think about... This board is great and I've gotten so much invaluable info on here. I'm going for several mor...

Re: Will OHIP cover an open cross bite? Anyone from Ontario

Thank you for the information as well! For some reason I was under the impression that OHIP covered hospital stays and anesthesia, but that the surgeon fees would need to be paid by the patient for those that have a less severe case. Maybe I've confused this with those trying to get insurance to pay...

Re: Will OHIP cover an open cross bite? Anyone from Ontario

Laundraholic - Are surgeries covered for severe cases only or are all jaw surgeries covered with OHIP?

Trossi - Sorry I can't be of help since I'm also in the process of gathering info, but good luck and I hope you get it covered with OHIP!

Should I get surgery?

Hi, I'm having a difficult time deciding whether I need / want to get jaw surgery. My problem is that I have a slight gummy smile, although it's not severe. My top teeth aren't straight and they slant inwards and cover the bottom teeth a bit more than they should. I think it's a class 2 (deep) overb...

LOL Sorry about that! I'm not sure about the technical terms, but basically to fix asymmetry of the face, so perhaps upper and lower jaw surgery (oral and maxillofacial surgery)? Hope that helps.

If anyone could recommend good orthognathic surgeons, that would be really helpful. Thanks!

Any surgeons in Toronto, Canada or Korea?

Hi there, For those in Canada, could you give me the names of good surgeons in the Toronto area? Costs, fees, your experience...? It's my understanding that we pay for surgeon fees in Canada and that's not covered, but all the rest are covered by OHIP, such as hospital stays, anesthesia? So, basical...

Thank you both for your replies. Almost makes me wish I had waited a little while longer. I guess it's better to have everything done before getting implants done since they're permanent and can not be moved later on.

Thanks for the help! :)

Implants and surgery

Hi everyone, I'm new here and so glad to have found this site. I have spent several hours reading to learn as much as I can today. It's a bit overwhelming for now since there's a lot to know and then there's finding a surgeon and all that stuff.... I have a question about having upper and lower jaw ...
