Re: Man my teeth hurt!

Its not that uncommon for the assistant to do a lot of the hands-on work. The ortho usually sets the program (what is to be done) and the schedule, but i've always had the bulk of the work done by the assistant. My ortho always checks the work and sees my progress and then writes down what is to be ...

Re: All done in 11 months (Before, during and after pics!)

A-MAZ-NING!! What a gorgeous smile you have now, i hope you use it every chance you get! Did your ortho take any before or after photos? One of the things that finally sold me on getting braces was when i was shown some before and after photos of someone very similar teeth and what an amazing smile ...

Re: Braces + RPE, now I'mgetting 4 wisdom teeth removed -NER

Braces don't cause more pain, it just means their gloves are more likely to get caught. But i also have a RPE in, less room to work in. Anyways i had it done this morning so here is my update. THE VERY SHORT UPDATE (cause i babble a lot) Better last night then last meal, but it was awesome Got knock...

Re: Oral B Superfloss...horrible!

Gotta update my review and saw this worked GREAT after i developed some bigger spaces between my teeth due to my braces and having a RPE shifting my teeth around. They have since shifted back to tighter spaces as they straightened out but for a month there i was really glad i didn't throw this floss...

Re: Braces + RPE, now I'mgetting 4 wisdom teeth removed -NER

I've mentioned getting these pulled to some co-workers who've had rpe/braces when getting theirs pulled & they all state were just fine. But yours & my experience may vary as we all know. Yah, i just try and latch onto the 'best case' scenario and just prepare for the worst. Its nice to at ...

Braces and RPE: 6 Month Before and After. WOW

Like many of you i would rarely smile in pictures enough to show my teeth, and if i did come across one it would look so terrible i would throw it out!! I've been slowly watching my teeth change in the last 6 months but it wasn't until my dentist showing me my before pictures that i went WOW!!! i do...

Braces + RPE, now I'mgetting 4 wisdom teeth removed -NERVOUS

I've had a lot of things done to my teeth in the last year in this order: Root Canal, Braces, RPE, Root Canal. There was some nervousness but nothing too bad, usually just something that builds up a day or two before the procedure. Searching online has really helped. Overall the worse was the spacer...

Right there in my contract with my ortho is said something about longlife retention. Only because i read it (which i'm sure lots don't) did i ever 'hear' that from my ortho. But i was already aware that getting braces as an adults means retainer every night for the rest of your life. Lots of stories...

I got this as well. As mentioned you just get used to it. I've actually ground mine down some and i'm going to ask them to put more in after my first adjustment on Monday.

I've had two root canals. One before braces and once after getting them. I actually got it a week AFTER my braces. I also have a RPE (Expander) so getting the xrays were no fun because i had far less room in my mouth. My first root canal was on a tooth i had a filling fall out of and then part of it...

@luchababe: I started just by pressing my tongue up against the teeth because they were really sensitive. Then lightly pulling pressure on them by sorta sticking out my tongue and lightly biting down. I did read something about one of those bite wafers but since my teeth started feeling better i don...

My teeth still look ghetto but i do smile with my teeth showing A LOT more now. People commented that i seem so much happier lol. In reality i was smiling to keep my lips from getting caught in my braces when i talk. However i'd always consciously keep my mouth closed when i smiled or laughed, so it...
