Oh - it will get soooo much better. I wanted to rip mine out of my mouth the first week I had them, and I was seriously considering going in to have them removed right away. But (thanks to this board and advice from people here!) I made myself stick it out at least a week, and things got much better...

Wow - your tops look pretty good already! You'll be amazed at how quickly things move with that first wire they use - in about three weeks you should see a big change.

Hi, there! I was de-banded six days ago, have permanent retainers, and I feel like my bite is still weird. Does anyone know if the bite continues to settle for a while after de-banding, or is this going to be my bite from now on?

Your teeth are looking great at 2 months! It's amazing how quickly they come into alignment. Glad you were able to get your wire fixed right away!

Hi, Dilema - I'm so excited for Wednesday! Although I have a tiny little worry that he'll tell me they're not ready. I'll post photos as soon as they are off! And stepher - I don't do anything special - I just use Crest Tartar Control toothpaste and that Colgate Phos-Flur rinse every once in a while...

They look incredible - congratulations!!! How was the removal process?!? Do your teeth feel totally weird without pressure on them?

I am getting permanent retainers top and bottom. I think that's all my orthodontist does - he himself has them. One thing I'm not sure of is if I'll get removable ones to wear at night, since the permanents only go behind 4-6 teeth?

Does anyone else think that time has sloooooowed dramatically since they got their de-band date?!? I think I have the longest 10 days of my life ahead of me - it's all I can think about!!!
