I agree, ENJOY it!! I got student discounts everywhere lol! I am 27 and looked 18 without braces so with braces I was even getting carded for lotto and to enter the A recipe for clams STAR GAMBLING IS AN ILLNESS THAT IS TREATABLE WITH THERAPY (which are 18 and up). It was pretty fun, besides the peo...

Re: Scared to have braces removed?

I just got mine off today and I can totally relate. I was having nightmares about it and everything. Definitely a lot easier than Ithought it would be so Ithink the anxiety got the best of me on the days leading up. There's nothing to fear and in my case, my teeth look so much better than I ever ima...

Re: Help - braces removed early?

My suggestion is to wait. You should trust your orthodontist like any medical professional that you've chosen and heed their advice (assuming he's a good ortho and does good work). There are things they can see with their knowledge and experience that we may not see as people who are not trained. I ...

Re: Day three, braces at work...

I also brush my teeth at work and actually 3 times after breakfast, after lunch and before I head home. It's funny because I never thought I'd be comfortable doing it but now it's almost second nature. My debrace day is Tuesday and I am going to continue my habit of brushing just because its good de...

Re: Questions on sensitivity, first week etc.

I agree with the above after initial bracing it took about a full 7 days before the pain subsided, but it was nice to see movement with the power chains right away. I used an electric toothbrush from the start especially to massage my aching gums which I liked better than the manual brush. As far as...

Re: It Does Get Better Doesn't it???

Hang in there!! And yes I agree that the pain is a sign of POSITIVE things ahead. After a while with mine I started getting used to the fact that the pain meant significant improvement, and I would actually start to get a little bummed when it didn't hurt or I didn't feel it  You will get accus...

Re: Do I still need my retainer?

I agree with the above, go get yourself another one!

No sense in tempting fate and ruining all that work! Besides, if they do move and get all out of whack, there's not much a retainer can do at that point so get it now while you can!

Re: Choice: ceramic uppers or metal? What did you choose why

I have ceramic up top and metal on the botom. I personally chose the ceramic on top for aethetic reasons. I didn't want it to be super obvious that I had braces for work and social reasons. I am happy with my decision thus far. I, like others mentioned, stay away from items that will stain my teeth ...

I just had an adjustment today and they gave me thicker rubber bands that they said would be super painful and I have yet to feel anything. It happens every once in a while that way for me and then strangely a few days later the pain's so bad my head hurts. The body is amazing in how it works!

I agree with all of you!! The time definitely does seem like it goes waaay slower towards the end. I had an adjustment today and tomorrow is my first year in braces. I was given an 18 month timeframe and was told today I had about 6 months to go, maybe sooner depending on how quickly rubber bands co...

I buy things from my SPAM SPAM SPAM all the time. I use my amazon app and even buy clothes as well through retailers with apps. I would use it if it was available since I prefer to do things on my phone because its more convenient and I have it with me all the time!

I have had mine for almost a year and I agree that 5 years sounds like such a long time especially if you aren't happy with what you're seeing. I agree that a second opinion would be in order especially since you've already invested so much time. Good luck and keep us posted on your outcome!
