Re: So who's sick of thinking about their teeth?

Every day there's something to think of. To brush or not to brush after lunch? How was my flossing last night? New teeth hurt and others don't out of the blue. Is something aching or is it just me thinking about it that's making it ache? :-= New wires, new appointments, new problems, it's really ge...

Re: Toothpaste!!

I bought Sensodyne for $6 and really regret it. there is really nothing special about it. There is no difference in how it "whitens" my teeth. I was using Toms of Main before and it worked just same well. As for the "super foam" effect - the same very thing is created by Sonic ca...

Re: Tooth Sensetivity

Hi, New to braces today. Whilst brushing my teeth I discovered I now have a tooth that hurts, just thinking about brushing it! Just touching it with a brush is agony. It's like I'm poking at hot poker straight into the nerve. Never had a problem with this tooth before. It is not hot and cold sensit...

Re: Tooth Sensetivity

Any fluoride paste and fluoride mouth wash will help. There is no point in spending $$$ on Sensodine.I bought one recently following all the review about how it helps to whiten teeth and I am NOT impressed especially given that it is 2 times more expensive then the paste I was using. When I had sens...

Re: A LITTLE BAD NEWS ;-(

So, Ive been anticipating my debanding date of January the 20th. My ortho told me today that I would have to wait an additional two weeks from that appointment date to get them off. They will take molds for the essex ratainers and the permanent retainers at that time. The earliest they could get me...

Re: Flying home after surgery...OR looking after myself???

what do you mean by "looking after you"? He probably means someone to take care of him after surgery. But jaw surgery doesn't make you bed ridden. If you're an independent person, you'll be fine after surgery. In that case I would just make a week supply of groceries in advance and all ot...

Re: how often can i get my braces tightened

"Early in treatment, the orthodontist may use a flexible wire that also has a longer activation time. The wire provides a way to keep a gentle force active over a long period of time. Therefore, appointments could be scheduled anywhere from 4-12 weeks apart. Later in treatment, as the wires be...

Re: Did you have a deep bite corrected?

My ortho told me she was correcting my deep bite, but as far as I know it's being done entirely with the braces (no other type of treatment). I'm about 3.5 months into treatment, and I don't think my bite has changed much. She has pushed my upper teeth out so she could put the lower braces on, my u...

Re: Did you have a deep bite corrected?

I do not think that the idea of being rude is relevant. I read a number of stories from people here that said that they were hoping for the best and waiting for the changes until they made all the paiments and then it was too late. But definitely changing the ortho is the last thing I want to do. I ...

Re: Did you have a deep bite corrected?

Evilnel, thank you for sharing your experience. I will ask my ortho about that kind of "pringle wire". Did your bite ineed corrected? Did your uppers got up? did they retain their position now? Are you still in braces?
