OUCH! Your expander makes mine look like a plastic chew toy! With everything that you've been through, getting the braces on themselves should be a walk in the park (well, almost ^^). Good luck!

THE FIRST WEEK Thank you farmboy&againbrace for the encouragement! Having braces as an adult definitely has its own set of trials and tribulations – I’m so glad there’s this forum for like-minded people to deal with them! Well – they’re in! Thanks to the folks here – I knew exactly what was goi...

Ahahah - yea, I didn’t know what they were until they were putting them in – so you’re way ahead of me! Basically, spacers are these metal paperclip like things that they put in between your molar teeth (I have 8 total right now). You get them on when you go in to get your molds done. This is to cre...

Thank you for the replies! I wrote this in the middle of the night when my spacers were feeling especially painful, and I was starting to get discouraged. I think the drowsiness is because I haven't been able to eat anything but liquids for a week. I’m starting to blend other sorts of proteins into ...

I recently “took the plunge” too so I know how you feel. Definitely – shop around! I don’t know about in other countries, but in the US consultations are free so it doesn’t hurt to get different opinions. Also, I noticed that every office operates a little differently. One had mostly younger staff, ...

braces at the workplace?

I was wondering - how does everyone deal with the pain of braces at work? I recently got 8 spacers put in and my mouth is in constant agony. I've been on a straight liquid diet for the past 4 days (I tried eating noodles for dinner today...and the aching pain in my gums tells me I should not have..)...
