Re: Braces on Short Rooted Teeth

I have Short roots on the same four teeth, not caused by trauma though - just a dental anomaly, I believe. I had work done on my molars first, to straighten the arch and then the front teeth banded a year ago, they are coming off on three weeks time. I think my root ratio was about the same as yours...

Re: first adjustment

I had an adjustment yesterday and it was pretty painful when he was changing out the ligs on a few of the teeth!!
Not too bad today pain wise though, even though I've now got a stronger wire.

Re: something i really dont understand!

I needed spacers, but didn't have brackets placed on the teeth until the spacers came out.
I never had just the unwired brackets, however a colleague of mine's daughter had just brackets for a week before the wire was then put in, no idea why though! Oh and I'm in the UK.

Re: How long until mouth feels more normal?

Its only been four days for me, and I already forget about them sometimes!
Not when I'm trying to eat though, the pain then won't let me forget about them for a while I expect!

Re: Day 1 and struggling

Hello! It's day one for me too, and I'm totally with you on the bulkiness of the mouth, my mouth feels huge and feel like I can barely keep my lips shut!
I'm sure we'll both get used to them pretty quickly though :D

Re: Pre-existing root resorption?

Hi, I am in the same boat as you! I have short roots in four of my teeth, but due to genetics most likely. I decided to take the plunge and get braces as I just couldn't live with my crooked teeth and them making me unhappy for the rest of my life. I had my braces fitted yesterday, and know it was t...

Re: Eating with wax?

I have only had to use wax twice so far one spot, but took the wax off to eat as I didn't like the thought of chewing on it with my food

Re: Fear

yes, definetly.
Especially since I can't see how they can all be aligned in my mouth without extractions, but I do have faith in my team of orthos :)

Re: Holly Molly, one of my teeth is moving

loose feeling teeth is normal as the tooth has to loosen to move. so i'd try to relax, unkess of course it's really mobile, rather than just 'clicky'.

Re: Movement of teeth: what is slow and what is fast?

I think by what your ortho says, for example, if he says they've moved well between adjustments, then i'd think that means they're moving fairly quickly.

Re: Unable to floss or Tepe molars

Having had a closer look with multiple mirrors it is actually brackets, just that theyre rrally close together so it looked like they were connected! Managed to floss, but almost squeeled with the pain. lol. yes, i'm getting a deeper and deeper tongue gauge by the second!! Used to have a waterpik bu...
