Re: Gum graft during braces treatment?

I'm still braced and I just had a gum graft on two of my lower front teeth three weeks ago. My ortho wanted it done before my braces come off to help add some stability to those teeth (I had significant crowding and therefore lots of movement). The sooner you get it done the better otherwise your gu...

Re: Someone Explain!?? Numbness in Lower Lip/ Chin?

There's a big nerve that runs all the way through your mandible that is responsible for the feeling in your lower lip and chin (colored blue below). http://www.maxfac.com/facial/images/cfs/37.jpg Someone posted this link a few months ago and I bookmarked it. Hopefully you'll find it as helpful as I ...

Re: For those that use(d) FSA

Thats on reason I never gave an FSA much consideration. I would be one of those people losing money. However, with a high expense medical (need) I know I could use it. With the new healthcare reform there are some changes to the FSA like you now need a doctor's prescription for things like advil (?...

I have Aetna and I had no problem getting my surgery approved. The whole process was painless (pardon the pun).

Re: For those that use(d) FSA

It's not really a reimbursement because you can use the money right after you set it up. The way it works is like this: 1. You elect how much to put in your FSA 2. As soon as your benefit year starts (for me it's June to May ... don't ask me why) you can use the full amount that you've elected 3. Pa...

I can definitely sympathize there! I already looked young and my coworkers tell me I look even younger, ugh! I still ice occasionally but I know it's all just a waiting game at this point.

I have the really nice people working on me, but sometimes I'd just like to be put out of my misery  Haha! I feel the same way! Things are going really well for me. I'm back to eating whatever I want and my braces might be coming off as soon as next month. I'm really in no hurry though. I want...

I'm trying very hard to find a balance between being an educated and empowered patient vs. being a pain in the ortho's side. I'm having the same dilemma! I go home and research and read so much about what my ortho did at my appointments and why. This whole process is so fascinating! I definitely wa...
