Is it normal for there to be saliva inside the essix retainer when you wear them? It sorts of irritates me and I have to take them out to remove the saliva every few mins. spring retainer vs hawley retainer

hello whats the difference between spring retainer and hawley retainer?

on my bottom set of teeth. i used to have my teeth from canine to the another canine flared out. my dentist bend the wire, so my teeth is all now in a U shape.
so do you think ill get a spring retainer for that?
