greencapt...ortho did not mention anything about the additional cost of temporarily taking braces off and putting them back on. So, I am assuming it does not involve any extra cost. I have started to see teeth moving at a good pace in last 2 weeks. In fact, crowding is much lesser then it was at the...

yeah I asked ortho about tooth colored wires. He said no. I am not sure if it is because they do not have tooth-colored wires available with them. I forgot to ask them about retainers though. hey butterfly! marriage proposal means asking if we agree to marry each other. marriage is not that soon...s...

Thanks Karen and all others for the great support!!! This forum is the best when we need support! giantfigure I think you need to take the word of your ortho though, as if you have to stay in treatment longer won't that mean that there would be a chance you might still be in treatment when it comes ...

need advice on a dilemma on temporarily taking braces off
Hey all! Please advise me on something! Before the treatment, I had told my orthodontist that I will travel back to my country for 3 weeks for marriage proposals, and if he can take the braces off temporarily for that time period. He then said..yes, he will do that. I am leaving to go back ho...

Yours has been for long. Do you still have the extraction gaps, if you had the extraction? Today, I completed two months in braces. I am seeing some gaps formed between the front teeth (both top and bottom) in last 2 weeks. I think it is because teeth will move inside to close the extraction gaps, a...

I guess it varies on individual case if it is towards the end or earlier. In my case, it's been only 7 weeks since i got braced. In my first adjustment 3 weeks back, I have been instructed to wear elastics connecting canine to molar. But it is not heavy one. I wear 3M Unitech's Louie medium 7.9mm el...

Many many congratulations Gracie!!! Worth a decision you took. I can feel the excitement you have now. I still have the same excitement even after 7 weeks. The journey is enjoyable, and not that bad as we imagine before starting the treatment. Two cheers on your braces and soon-to-be a lovely smile!...

I had gingivectomy done just before the braces to remove some extra gum from the front bottom teeth. My teeth looked much better then :) But I think you should wait until the treatment is over. After that, if you still have lots of gum covering your teeth, periodontist knows the right treatment to t...

it seems we had exactly the same kinda adjustment. I had my first adjustment on Aug 25. Same..upper wire changed, ligs were replaced (I was so anxious to get the white-turned yellow ligs being changed!). I met with periodontist last week. He said my gum are healthy. sigh of relief! :) Although the t...
