Hi llehsal I just wanted to wish you good luck for your b day and also to say that although you may not have the encouragement you need from those around you right now, just try to remember you are doing this for yourself and not for anyone else. Once you get those bad boys on, you won't look back! ...

First signs of movement...

Hey everyone!! I've had my braces on for almost three weeks now and I'm starting to notice some changes. Different teeth seem to feel sore every day and a couple of my incisors are now wobbly - it's a bit of a strange feeling! I keep having dreams that my teeth are falling out, haha! I suffe...

I've had a go with the tweezers but I can't the angle right so I think I'll try and stick it in place with the wax and call my dentist first thing.

Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated! :)

The wire has come out of the back bracket of my braces! :\

Yep, so I think I got a bit too enthusiastic about being able to chew again and the wire just popped out of the back bracket on my damon braces  The wire currently only goes round to the first molar and I had second premolars extracted so I guess the wire is going to be quite weak across ther...

The first few days are the worst! Stock up on paracetamol and be prepared to live off soup for a while...it's been a week since I got mine fitted and I only just managed to eat a proper meal today. Not being able to bite anything is a weird feeling! Your teeth are going to be sore for a while and ge...

[quote="Blossom"] 1) braces and UV lights are scary and it is in my best interest to avoid any place with these types of lights as they make me look like an evil clown Hilarious! I haven't had mine on long but already I have discovered: 1. As soon as I wake I now instantly check my teeth i...

Yeah, it's pretty much the exact length with no room for movement between the brackets. My front bottom teeth are really crooked so it seems like they won't have the space to move with the metal covers between the back teeth. I guess I'll just have to be patient until my next appointment.

Ahh ok, that does make sense, thanks! It's a metal cover that fits the length of the gaps.

Do you have any idea if this will effect the way my teeth move at all? I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself as I've only had the braces on since monday, but I can't wait for them to start working!

Hey I know exactly how you feel too. It's taken three years of deliberation, and finally at the age of 25 I decided to just go for it. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I've been single for a couple of years and before I got them fitted I did wonder how I would cope as an adult with braces, w...

Confused...help!!

Hey! I was hoping someone could help me. I got my braces 6 days ago and I was wondering why my dentist has put a metal tube covering over the wire in the spaces where I had some teeth removed? My dentist didn't explain, and I can't seem to find any info elsewhere. I'm slightly confused as to why she...
