Re: Calling all my fellow bite turbo wearers....

I also have bite turbos behind my two front teeth...I was originally told I would have them for 4-6 months but I've had them for 11 months now and my back molars aren't even close to touching...hopefully it won't be too much longer but who knows at this point :-)

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Well I am officially in the club now! I had surgery yesterday morning. I had two baby teeth extracted and two impacted canines exposed. I am so glad it is over with. My doctor prescribed me two doses of valium. One to take the night before and one to take an hour before the procedure. It was magic. ...

Re: Extractions of 3 baby teeth and 1 adult tooth

I had two baby teeth extracted and two impacted canines exposed yesterday morning and my doctor prescribed me a valium to take one hour before the procedure. It was magic. I was completely aware of everything that was going on but just enough in la la land not to care. Good luck with your procedure!!

Impacted canine exposure surgery -- sedation?

So I have my consult with the surgeon about extracting 2 of my baby teeth and exposing/gold chaining my impacted canines scheduled for Monday the 27th. When I called they asked if I wanted to be sedated or not and I'm not sure. They suggested a consult before I decide and said my decision may be bas...

Re: Just got braces on and turbo bites are cutting my tongue

Turbos definitely suck at first. I've had mine on for 9 months now but I don't even notice them anymore. It took me about 5 weeks to get used to them . I got thru it my putting orajel on the tip of my tongue where the sores were and by using the orajel mouth rinse a few times a day. It doesn't stay ...

Filling Fell Out?

So about 10 years ago I had a tooth colored filling done on the side of one of my front teeth...and it just fell out!! I have an appointment with my regular dentist to take a look at it in the morning. Its pretty obvious looking. So my question is has anyone needed to have a filling done while brace...

First adjustment Pix

WEEK 8 So I've survived two months in braces. I've figured out how to get the wax to stick to my turbos so I've finally figured out how to live with them. I still can't really eat much so I've lost 13 pounds so far. I had my first adjustment this weekend. Pretty uneventful. All she did was "tie-in"...

I've had my braces for almost 6 weeks and I've lost 11 pounds...but I also have bite turbos which made it impossible to chew for the first month...I've just begun to be able to chew really soft food like pasta so it will be interesting to see what happens weight wise now...especially after the turbo...

Week 5 I think my turbos and I are getting along much better :-) I can now somewhat chew on my right side...I chewed ravioli and very undercooked pizza this week! The million cankers on the bottom of my tongue have thankfully healed up and each morning when I wake up my mouth is less sore. I am rea...

Week 4 I'm pretty much at the same place I was last week. Lots of sores in my mouth which I can deal with but I HATE my turbos. My tongue is so raw that it hurts to talk and it even hurts to drink out of a straw. Thanks to my turbos I'm now down 9 pounds. I'm considering calling the ortho to get ri...

I too am a member of the Impacted Club...I've been braced for almost 4 weeks...my ortho said that 4-6 months into treatment I will need to have two baby teeth extracted and have the canines exposed. I am completely dreading it and am hoping to find an oral surgeon that will know me out for the proce...

Week 3 So week three was worse than week two...I'm not liking the pattern that is starting to form. I was hoping things would start getting better not worse. I'm not sure how to even describe how many sores are in my mouth! I have a couple against each bracket and a couple in the front of mouth. Th...

I'm on week 2 of braces and have a ridiculous amount of cankers too. I've been using the Orajel Antiseptic Mouth Sore Rinse 4 or 5 times a day and it has really helped. Plus I've been using Colgate Orobase - its basically puts a coating over the sore so it doesn't get as irritated. Both these produc...
