Re: Bummed about surgery results
I have the opposite problem. Im a guy and I had double jaw surgery about 3 weeks ago. I also didnt have a genioplasty and I am thinking I should have as I still look like I have an overbite in profile view. It looks like all my other problems were fixed(open bite, lip incompetence, gummy smile, show...

How long is it ok to go with broken brackets before you have to worry about delays in treatment?
I just had 2(maybe 3 brackets, on my top back teeth on the right) break(they are floating on the wire). I wont be able to see my orthodontist until Monday. Should I be concerned about teeth shifting back to starting position and losing progress/delaying treatment?

Re: 14 days post op and feelings of major depression...
Hey you can pm me pics if you arent comfortable posting them(obviously I will keep it 100% confidential), and I will tell you what I think. It is 100% normal to feel this way though. 1) You still have a lot of swelling at only 14 days post op 2) The face that you knew for 20+ years has changed in a ...

Worried that veneers may hurt my surgery
Im set to have orthognathic surgery sometime in the future(whenever my teeth are ready) to correct an open bite and vertical maxillary excess. The only problem is that a few years ago I got no prep veneers on my top teeth to fix staining and spacing. I think they lengthened some of my teeth. My conc...

Any reasonable way to get this done while studying in Israel(as a US citizen)
I just had my appointment with an orthodontist and he confirmed that I will need braces and surgery to fix my problems. I am set to begin a 4 year course of study, abroad in Israel soon. The school provides health insurance but it doesnt cover pre-existing conditions(which I am assuming my condition...

Re: Facial proportions, need advice please [pics]!!!
Your profile is fine. You are tilting your head slightly higher in photo A than in B(you can tell by the position of the ear and nose). That is why it looks like your jaw changed it's size.

The results seem quite drastic. But I didnt think it was possible in adults without surgery.

Re: NY surgeons/orthos? Ways to finance surgery as a student
Sorry I should have clarified, my problem is a skeletal openbite because of posterior vertical excess. Im guessing you were a class 2 skeletal and your teeth compensated for the discrepancy which is why they needed to decompensate. Since my problems are mostly vertical, and my teeth are straight I d...

Re: NY surgeons/orthos? Ways to finance surgery as a student
1)I just had braces taken off, my teeth are straight and I am pretty sure my orthondontist didnt compensate. Id imagine I'll need braces for a little bit but I am fairly certain the time will be reduced to a few months. 2) When I said good credit I meant near 800 for all three. I dont know if that m...

NY surgeons/orthos? Ways to finance surgery as a student?
I have finally decided to pursue surgery after some soul searching. I plan to go for consults starting in the fall when I start law school. Im not sure if I would still be covered under my dad's policy as I would be 23. As I have a full ride scholarship to school I wouldnt really mind taking a loan ...

Hey, did you have to have braces? You said your teeth are already straight(so are mine) so I am wondering if it is possible to do this without braces.

Re: Jaw Questions - Long Face Syndrome
Usually LFS patients have either an open bite or overjet( or both). I dont understand how your upper teeth would be covered by your lower lip in that case. If anything it sounds like whatever the opposite of long face syndrome is. Are your lips naturally closed at rest? It would be easier to help wi...
