Re: Catgyrl's (Cathy's) Journey at age 42...
Well… I HAVE A DATE!! No, not that kind of date (Hopefully, that will come later!) An even better one: MY DEBANDING DATE! It will be August 15th at 9:20 AM. :jump: Even though I’m going to see my ortho next Friday, 8/3, I called the office today to see if I could just go ahead and schedule ...

Piksters the purple one, I think it's size 1. Go to the Piksters website, or amazon. I love them, and use them still.

Re: What to expect when you're expecting.. an implant?
Not many people on the site have gotten implants, so questions aren't usually answered quickly. I'm guessing you already got it? Did you get the gas? I did, and it made the whole thing much easier. I never had much pain at all, not even while healing. And I'm sure you know by now that the screw does...

Re: I have no ligatures on the back most molars?
They don't have ligature because they are tubes, so the wire slides into them.

Re: Last teeth (2nd Molars) not banded?
Mine were banded around the 6th month. Wasn't something I ever talked to the ortho about, and he just decided in the middle of an appointment that they were going on. It is a good idea to ask, especially if that's an area of concern for you.

Re: Advice about essix retainers
From what I've noticed it takes about a week for the Essix to loosen up. I hadn't had any pain for the last 3 months of braces, then quite a bit with the Essix retainers. Now that they're easier to get on and off I have no pain. Just watch your teeth, you'll see if they're moving. Make the appointme...

Re: Bonding 4 front teeth together and essix retainer
I think he means using the permanent retainer to pull and hold together the teeth. I wouldn't want a gap either, you should ask just to be sure of his intent.

Re: essix question
Most of the time you get the Essix same day as deband. A lot of offices have a lab in the back. It's the Hawleys you have to wait for.

Re: Cleaning waterpik
Just like your coffee pot. Run the machine with vinegar, let the vinegar sit for 15 minutes, run again and then empty and rinse with water. In New Mexico I had to do that every 3 months.

Re: Catgyrl's (Cathy's) Journey at age 42...
I've decided the Essix are super icky. I just don't like them. I'm always taking them out to clean them, and they're always covered with plaque. They'll do for now, but Hawleys will make me much happier. I'm sure for those first few months of 24/7 wear you'll be fine with the Essix, but when you mov...

You know, when we first get braces we think of "perfect" teeth. But, when it comes down to it, we just want normal. Normal bite, normal midline and teeth where they're supposed to be. Debrace day is not being put off by something minor, not after two years. I will say, retainers are not be...

Re: Red Swollen Gums
Definitely keep up the flossing and good brushing habits. Sometimes swishing with 50/50 peroxide water mix really helps. Have you eaten anything that could be sticking in your gums? Sometimes popcorn kernels can get lodge right at the gum line, and that can cause irritation. I also used a kids tooth...

Crest pro health stains, bad. Do a quick search on yahoo or google. I had horrible staining, and the only thing to get rid of them is a trip to the dentist.

Re: How does rotating the teeth really work?
My Ortho.. put three extra small wires around three of my teeth , and then she twisted it. She claims that this will rotate my teeth. What do you call this ? :?: :Questions: I'm pretty sure those are wire ties, they are able to apply more consistent pressure, longer. I had a premolar that was turne...

Re: Upper canine implants...
The pic of my teeth, as promised. All thats left to do the day of deband is smooth the corner of the upper right central, your left. I'm forcing myself not to go in and bug Diva Ortho, since I know the only thing making that tooth look crooked is the corner. We've been slowly smoothing those two cen...
