I started using ACT when I got my braces on (2 wks ago) and my top two teeth (not braced) are getting white spots. I thought the point of the flouride rinse was to avoid white spots. Anyone experience this?

...I should add, they stained from white tea. 1 cup! I thought it'd be fine because it's really light. Obviously not... And, I avoided coffee and red wine--two of my favorites--just to have them stain with white tea.

I have the clear ICE braces on the bottom. I had clear ligs that stained within 3 days. My husband said it wasn't noticable, but I couldn't stop looking at them. I had to go in for another fix yesterday and had her change them to pearl. They definintely show more, so I'm kind of bummed I chose them....

I am pretty obsessed with this site too. My favorite are the before and after photos. Anyway, you'll be so glad that you did it. Are those only on metal braces? The option wasn't mentioned to me, but I went in with a specific request for clear, so maybe that's why...

Being persuaded by whom? Your ortho? I say, go with your gut. If you want metal, get metal. I had metal as a teenager and now I have clear ICE brackets on the bottom (nothing on top). After 4 years and 7 months, I would also find a new ortho if I were you. I can see if it had been 2 1/2 years and you were just antsy and ready to have them off, but this seems like an excessively long time in my opinion. I would think a new, reputable ortho would take on your case and continue forw...

The 12 months (or less) will go by fast. Be happy you are 22 and can have it out of the way by the time you are 23. I had braces from 13-16 and my lower teeth crowded in my twenties--I am now 37 and decided to get a lower set of braces. I should've fixed them in my twenties.... Best of luck to you.
