Lower Bonded Retainer....questions!

I just got my braces off yesterday after 26 months! Got my retainers today, both upper and lower clear plastic removable ones. I asked if I could get a lower bonded one so that I only have to deal with one removable one (at night only). My questions are.... I'm seeing all sorts of post where people ...

Hello everyone...the situation is only getting worse. The sores in my mouth are soooo painful. This is FAR worse than the typical ol' pokey wire that we all get from time to time. It is now to the point that all food just makes it sting and painful...I cannot eat at all, the open sores even sting an...

I would not worry, unless your ceramics have ligs. I have the self litigating and no problem at all. I drink insane amounts of soda and I have had no problem. My ortho comments that my teeth look great!

Good luck!

Both the ortho and all the assistants just seem to act like this "keep the wires extra long" thiing is normal. You have got to be kidding me, its torture. Its one thing when the brackets are not on the far back teeth, its fairly easy to cover with wax. On the far back teeth with extra long...

I think its pretty normal not to bracket the last molars on most people, the hopes are all the teeth will fall into place nicely and for many they will never need the back ones bracketed and wired. In my case those back molars on the bottom only werent aligning properly, therefore needing the bracke...

Im looking to know when i might be past this HORRID stage where the wire is cutting me very very badly...this is un like the normal pokey wire. They leave t...

Brackets on far rear molars...HELP!

My ortho put brackets in the very rear molars on the bottom today. This is HORRIBLE. They claim the wires have to be left exrtra long so that they can make sure it stays in. I have had it this way for like 6 hrs now and my cheeks are complete hamburger already. When I bite down I bite on the bracket...

Chewing is so hard when they are new and also after some adjustments. As much as it hurts, the more you chew and "use" your teeth the less time they will be sore! My last adjustment they put bigger wires on both top and bottom and holy cow my mouth was IN PAIN!!! But ya gotta use your teet...

I have metal on lower and ceramic on the upper. I have the In-ovation C brackets which do not have ligs, they are self litigating. I drink TONS of soda and therefore the ligs would be very bad for me. I like the clear on top...they are a bit bigger but you will adjust just fine. I am happy with the ...

I also have ceramic uppers and regular metal lowers. My lips and mouth definately took a bit longer to adjust to the upper ones. Even still when my mouth is irritated after an adjustment its always the upper brackets that are bothering me. Overall though, your mouth will adjust and you will have no ...

In my experience, my ortho and dentist work closely together. So when it came time to actually get the braces on I just went to my dentist and he made sure everything was in tip top shape before brace day. I had several cavities filled and also a molar temporary filled that will be a root canal when...

How are all the January people doing these days? My teeth are very very straight now...my ortho said I will start the phase of working on my bite and "tweaking" stage very soon. I am soooo excited, wish I could be done NOW!! Im nervous for having rubberbands, I hear thats the worst part?
