Re: first day

Best of luck with all this. For the moment as a few people suggest, you could try to ensure that any new aligner is thoroughly rinsed before first use - it might help. I have not alerted my own orthodontist to the problem raised in recent threads, apart from mentioning on my first check-up, shortly ...

Re: first day

I know for sure that my ortho will not take the complaint seriously, I asked her casually before I started and she said she never heard of such a thing... If - for instance - you show your orthodontist the discussion linked to: here from this group: ESCO , in particular this post: January 10, 2011 ...

Re: Invisalign, Plastic Retainer Allergy Blog Post

Looking through the links at the end of your post, there is a recent comment in the thread on this blog: Allergic reactions to Invisalign materials | Electronic Study Club for Orthodontics Here: January 10, 2011 at 12:56 pm This comment indicates that Invasalign can if it chooses to produce "Hy...

Re: Invisalign Allergy Side effects upper respiratory sympto

I think you are right. What seems to be occurring with a few people, is a sensitivity to some substance on an un-rinsed aligner which can trigger an inflammatory response in the respiratory system - in the mouth, throat, sinuses and so on. In my own experience, this may be followed by a secondary (b...

Re: Invisalign Allergy Side effects upper respiratory sympto

I will add to my earlier post in this thread (24/01/2010), relating to experience of a sore throat and congestion followed by a deep cough, with my initial aligner trays. When this happened twice, I concluded that prior cleaning of the trays was important, and had no further problem with my course o...

Actually no! I just started using an electric toothbrush and that makes all the difference in the world :) I agree with this, I was looking into whitening options, and found them problematic - expensive and whitening doesn't promise to last all that long. I found an article reviewing all the option...

As this thread has been bumped and I now wish I'd seen it earlier, I would agree with what is said here about pre-cleaning new aligners. I got a sore throat within a a couple of days of my first tray, which I had used straight from the packet - within a week this developed into a cough and congestio...

I have compromised a bit on simply getting my upper teeth sorted, as the way my smile is, those are easily the most important. I have some crowding in my lower arch which might be sorted out too if I was a perfectionist, but decided on the balance of hassle, cost and the prospect of retainers, to op...

my theory is that the more things you do that are usually done at a younger age, the more you “trick” your body into believing it is younger and voilà, you live longer! :D That's a great post - thanks. I've not found anyone so far who's queried this venture, but if I do - well there's the explanati...

64 here and also a gran :). I made a decision to go ahead with Clearstep (UK version of Invasalign) around four months ago, basically to close a gap in my front upper teeth I've had most of my life - it simply returned after childhood braces; something I was used to but seemed to be worse if anythin...
