Re: Online dating and braces...
The dating web sites ask you for your eye color, age, height, weight, race, hair color, but not whether or not you have braces or not. The presence of braces probably does speak volumes more about what you are actually like as a person than any of those other factors which the web sites do ask, and ...

I'm confused,
I thought in US one had to have specific orthodontist certification in order to practice, and general dentists were not properly licensed for orthodontics.
Is this not correct?

Re: photos taken in braces
Smile big, and use your favorite Photo-editing software to add in a "twinkling star" to accentuate how shiny the iron is.

Re: What do you bring to eat when flying?
I eat whatever they serve on the plane. I have yet to find any food in flight or out which is not braces compatible. Maybe nut-covered candy apples. Sometimes they don't have straws which is really annoying. When you fly, you can select a kosher meal, vegetarian meal, gluten-free meal, allergic-to-n...

Joe Girardi - New York Yankees manager
This isn't recent news, but I just caught it recently (I'm not a sports fan I guess) - the New York Yankees manager, 45 year-old Joe Girardi has been wearing braces for the past year or so. Plug "joe girardi braces" into your favorite search engine and there are plenty of photos & stor...

As I've posted before, I got my braces when I was living in the US, at a clinic in Mexico, and I got my last adjustment in the Philippines, and currently live in Israel. Hoping to the next adjustment next month in Brazil. I've also received ligature changes (not full adjustments) at probably at leas...

I've actually felt more comfortable with brackets on the last molars than without. It felt sort of weird when I didn't have brackets on the last molars and felt more sensitive such as when touching the last bracket, now with the last molar brackets they are so far back I can't even reach back there....

My most recent adjustment was in the Philippines, I currently live in Israel, and I started braces at a clinic in Mexico when I was living in US and have had ligatures changed in several different countries (in South America, Caribbean, and Asia) on top of that. Such is life. You can go to any denta...

These aren't my teeth (I'm stuck on boring gray myself), but my photo of someone I recently met - http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/5251/dsc00056a.jpg Note the detailing of the upper arch: fuchsia powerchain half-links each spread over two bracket halves (creating distinct color splash in the middl...

If you wonder what the orthodontist thinks, do you wonder what other people think? I mean just random people you pass on the subway, in the store? They are probably wondering why you do NOT put braces. Nobody cares why you didn't put them a long time ago, but when you have the chance now, why not do...

Drinking out of a Straw
I have found that since getting braces now I can't drink anything without a straw.. Have become so accustomed to it I figure it is good and reduces potential staining decay since all the sugar & colored liquids bypass teeth totally. I drink lots of cola & energy drinks.. I don't know if it a...

I just got back from a city in South America which had a lot of people with braces. The biggest group that I can think that we had was together was 4, but certainly when going out there would be many dozens in a given restaurant or disco or anywhere. Saw all sorts of different people with full metal...
