Re: Mouthguards for martial arts

Custom made is the best way to go, however a company that was started by a dentist called Shock Doctor makes a very good Orthodontic mouthgaurd. My Orthodontist recommended this mouthgaurd over the ones that he makes because they protect as well or better and are a better price. They make a braces m...

Freedom!!!

Today I have been set free by the Orthodontist! Atleast from the jail of having the braces. I'll tell you it was the best lunch I have had in 16 months. I am hoping to get photo's from my Ortho next week when I pick up my retainers.

Re: New!! Please Advise!?

I don't know where you are, but I would say get a couple more oppinions from some other Orthos. My youngest has been through his Phase I treatment and it has made a world of difference in how his teeth are now. His Ortho did the Phase I treatment for a very good price (free) with the full understand...

Re: I get my braces today!

Congrats on your Big day, I think you will find once you get used to them the time will fly by. By the way, my wife has braces for the same reason, and I can say that while the migraines are not gone, it has definatly helpped out.

Re: Another Second Timer

Thanks Sandpiper, the wrist is getting better, the bone is healed just have to get the soft tissue to quit hurting. Anyway, WOW, final bends have been done and I have to say that they have caused the most discomfort of anything I have had done with braces. I did not have spacers this time around, bu...

Re: Another Second Timer

Hi to all, it has been awhile since I have posted, but as typical, the progress has seemed to slow to the point that nothing is going on. I had an adjustment yesterday and was told that at my next appointment they will change the wires again and do final bends. So it seems that the light at the end ...

Hey all, just an update from me. My Ortho repositioned 9 brackets at my last adjustment a week ago. I hate to say it, but it is almost like having them on for the first week again. I have been very sore this entire week. But on the good front, my Ortho has shortened the time between adjustments, so ...

I had a very simalar situation with my youngest son. I had him visiting the Ortho every year waiting and seeing what his permenant teeth would do as they came in. When four bottom and two top were in permenant, with the same situation, the ortho started with six brackets on bottom. two months later ...

As with all Ortho paitients, each persons case is different. Keep in mind that Phase I treatment does not always mean a full set of braces, it very often is accomplished with various different appliances. My 13 year old son did not need Phase I treatment and just went into comprehensive treatment wh...

Eight weeks between adjustments and not a single problem was had. After my last adjustment, my gaps were pretty closed up with the power chain. They are not quite there yet but the Ortho chose not to put the powerchain back on this time. I did have a new gap open up between two of my upper incisors ...

Be very careful with this insurance. While it appears very affordable, it may be more problematic than you think. First, this is specific to the state of California, not sure where you are, but if in CA you are set there. Second, this insurance will make you go see a dentist that is in there list of...
