Hi Bianca! From 24-36 months to 12 months. Wow, you must be happy. Congrats on your successful treatment! No, you're not alone. At my last adjustment the ortho and his assistant mentioned that, unfortunately, my braces wouldn't be removed at the next visit but rather, the visit after that (in April...

Hi fantasia , Congratulations! And I wish you heaps of happiness for your wedding day (and thereafter, too!) :-88 It's great that you have good timing with your treatment so you won't have to juggle ortho appointments with the rest of your wedding prep and you'll have the bonus of a beautiful smile....

Wow, KK , I didn't know you can get braced without molar bands. So lucky :) I haven't had springs or powerchains but I'd have to agree with the majority here: SPACERS Forgive my use of caps here but they did hurt (more than my 4 wisdom extractions) and I only had rubber ones so I can't imagine what ...

KK: Wedding teeth Haha! I waged wars with my ortho for my wedding teeth!! Hi LoobyLou! I knew that I'd probably get engaged within the 2 years of treatment. The only time I (briefly) thought about waiting until my treatment had finished was when my partner suggested we have an 8-month engagement bu...

Thanks, KJM Yes, I felt it was worth having the top braces off. Initially I wanted top & bottom off but after discussing with my ortho we compromised with just having the top braces removed. I remained retainer-less which is why they moved (so much) in the 7 days. Even though he threatened addi...

Braces off for wedding day! (progress pics)

http://scentedblue.typepad.com/photos/happy_schnapps/03teeth_may_2006.jpg It's been a while since I've posted last. Just wanted to add my first progress pics since joining the forum. I had my top braces removed for my wedding (it's a bride's choice!) and I'm so glad I did. Though, having a week wit...

Pepsi, black tea, tomato sauce and red wine (I've left out beer because I'm really hoping it's not a culprit, too!) does it for me. I don't eat curry so it's a gradual staining.

I know it's festy but if my pearl ligs become discoloured I just wait 'til my next appointment :FeelSick:

How old are you? 28 How many times a year did you visit the dentist before braces? My adult teeth never saw a dentist until 3 months before my wisdoms were taken out which was just 3 months before getting braced. How many times a year do you visit the dentist now? 2x a year How much did you floss be...

Hi MrsDantel ! Congratulations on your engagement & upcoming wedding! You've got a gorgeous dress there, too :D I'm getting married in May and I went through exactly the same ordeal and I am willing to pay extra to remove them for the day. There's so much planning involved so I totally understan...

Hey Laura! Welcome to the club :D I've developed an "under construction" lisp which rarely annoys me. Just think, you'll have a winning smile by the end of it. Good luck with your progress!

Hey BraceFace15! I've had my braces for almost a year and I've got a lisp. I feel like it'll be there forever since my front upper & lower teeth don't meet anymore. I'm hoping this changes cos it's been really getting on my nerves for the last few month :GapToothed:
