I had to wear my rubber bands for 24 hours except when brushing.

I just had that elastic configuration for 2 months and it cut my gums where it goes across the top. Just pull the elastic down under your two front brackets. Try it and let me know if it works for you. It worked for me.

Warm salt water rinses a few times a day help a lot. Hope you feel better soon. Ive had my braces since January and I have rarely had to use wax. Even when I can feel my braces rubbing on my bottom lip, I just tough it out so that my lips can get use to all this metal.
