I'll be honest with you; when I came home the kids were a little freaked out by my appearance. My horrible mood didn't help much either...
But they love you and will soon get past that. Mine did.

Re: I have a surgery date!
Hi Guys, I went to see my surgeon last week and finally i have a date booked for surgery! It should be, fingers crossed, on 4th september. This could get postponed nearer the time as my surgeon also treats cancer patients and they get priority. To recap, I have an overbite, I've had braces for 2 ye...

3 years post-surgery, what I think about my decision.
Sorry, I haven't posted here in a LONG time, but this place helped a lot with my questions and I wanted to visit again and share what I can for those considering, about to or have already undergone oral surgery. For a recap; to fix my horrible under bite I had my lower jaw removed and set back, my u...

Hmm... I'm no doctor but it doesn't sound like the best approach to me. Much easier to get move teeth around to accomodate the surgery than to move a jaw around to accomodate the teeth.. My surgeon took molds almost every time I went in and practiced on them until he was happy with how the surgery w...

Different surgery methods/different recovery times?
I had my surgery about 8 weeks ago, it was a LONG and hard recovery. I upper and lower jaw surgery and my cheekbones advanced. Now I have a guy who works for me that came in today after his similar surgery 2 weeks ago. Almost the same work except the cheekbones. He looks great, is talking well and s...

yes my face did get oily from the surgery. It is your body's way of protecting itself against all of the swelling and stretching of the skin. The oiliness really didn't/doesn't bother me. I would rather have it than not. If I didn't have it then i would have had dry, flaky, red skin...at least that...

Hi Projo, could you please elaborate a little on the cheekbones advancement? This is the first time that I hear about such a procedure. Why did you have it done? How was it done? Are you talking about an osteotomy (severing and repositioning of the bones) or are you referring to cheek implants? Dav...

I hate the swelling part. I am almost two months post-op and still have some swelling (mostly in the cheek area). It tends to be worse in the morning. And I am still trying to sleep at a 45 degree incline. I wonder how long i will take for all the swelling to go away and when I'll be able to sleep ...
