How soon after surgery can you take a shower ?
Weird question, I know, but for some reason it troubles me (hate to look and smell like a mess for days, especially since people will come to visit).

Our son is having surgery on July 26th - 3 days after his 13th birthday. I am so incredibly nervous for him. He will have both upper and lower jaw plus moving the chin forward. We have a series of classes about it coming up through Kaiser. In the meantime, I'm reading as much as I can. I'm glad to ...

My operation is scheduled for July 19th. By then I'll be 1.5 years in braces. I'm going to go through double jaw surgery (to correct underbite of about 9mm). The procedure will be done using one of the following two options: 1. Lefort1+BSSO+Genio, 2. Lefort1 + Segmental mandibular osteotomy. My surg...

Why am I the only one you ask to post pics? If I wanted to post full face pics I would. Obviously I don't want to. Since you went through a similar procedure to the one I'm going to go through (double jaw surgery to fix underbite). I wasn't aware that the reason is shyness (which is totally underst...

But I don't understand, at this point after surgery you are supposed to be drugged enough not to feel the crushed bones and teared flesh in your face, so how on earth can you feel the pain coming from pee touching your scratched urethra ?, I was under the impression the drugs they use work systemica...

Question for *males* who went through surgery.
I've read a blog of someone who said that after they took the catheter out, the first time he had to pee was very painful, or in his own words: "The pain I experienced while trying to pee for the first time after that surgery was like nothing I’ve ever experienced (and remember, I once shattere...

You can inform your surgeon that teeth don't lose the ability to move after surgery. If everything is ready for surgery, apart from the gap from pre-molar extractions, there is no need to wait.dvdrdiscs wrote:I e-mailed my surgeon and he said no can do Any surgery will require all gaps closed! Damn it.

Your lower jaw might protrude just 2mm now, but your upper teeth probably protrude forward to compensate, so actually your lower jaw protrude much more. During pre-surgery orthodontics, your upper teeth will be brought backward, and your problem will become worse. I started too with just 2mm lower ...

Hey guys. I just got home like 2 hours ago. My surgery started at 8am yesterday and lasted 4 hours. Everything went well according to the doctors. I woke up around 12:30, feeling no pain and overall much better than I expected. Although my arm was killing me, probably from the position it was layin...
